Added recently to my mic locker for small home studio. First impression. "TRUE". Acoustic guitar, flute and male vocals so far. Used cardioid and figure of 8 patterns. Picks up every nuance and is quiet. My band mates are thrilled and disappointed at the same time. It's what you really sound like.
Fortunately, my vs2000 is loaded with effects. Very happy with Audix and it's even made in USA.
Believe me, I buy a lot of stuff from guitar center as a musician and home studio owner and if I don't like it, it goes back, no questions asked. I'm sure there are other multi pattern condense mics in this price range with similar quality of sound but I would not hesitate to purchase a second one if needed.
