Comments about Audio-Technica ATH-SR5BTBK Bluetooth On Ear Headphones Hi-Res With Controls:
For critical mixing, I use studio monitors or wired over-the-ear headphones that provide maximum flat frequency response and isolation. I hadn't seen a need for wireless headphones until recently when I bought a set on sale at a local office supply store to use while walking the dog. I liked the concept much more than I thought I would but the ones I got were very flimsy and seemed as thought they would break if I looked at them wrongly (PS: they cost about 1/3 the price). Also, they seemed to cut out badly when paired with my iPhone while walking. I'm glad I got these. They're rock solid and feel professional quality, like my other A-T products and they aren't as prone to drop-outs. Before buying these, I read some reviews that weren't very positive with regard to the bass response. I can only say that if you want them to "boom" like some of the car subs I hear on the road, these aren't for you. I won't compare these to my A-T and Shure studio cans because that's not a fair comparison, but, with that said, I think these are very good and reasonably truthful. Also, I doubt that I could ever hear 40kHz, so the HD capability is not a factor for me, but it is available when using a wired connection. If you are looking for excellent audio with wireless capability, these might be the ones. The sound is smooth and full spectrum with no noticeable peaks, valleys or drop-outs.
