CLEARLY THE BEST CHOICE!!!

By JuNkYaRd MoNkey

from lomita, ca

Comments about Audio-Technica AT2035 Large Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

I spent almost two months researching mics over the internet, and everytime I looked for an inexpensive, efficent and amazing performance microphone...THIS IS THE BEST CHOICE. I used the AT2035 solely for vocals and heard nothing short of almost flawless quality. This microphone also works well on tube amps and cabinets (bass or guitars). As for acoustics it picks up a lot of noise. But that can be compensated with a compresser. If you go to the Audio-techina website you'll find more than enough info on this mic stats. This is an awesome mic and I'm so happy for purchasing it.

The AT2035 is a stunner for the price (and beyond)

By D Lockman

from Lois Angeles

Comments about Audio-Technica AT2035 Large Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

It's sound is detailed, full and focused, with just the right amount of brightness for most singers. This is not one of those glossy-sounding "German-Austrian style" mics, just a straightforward vocal mic that gets the job done with flying colors (or I should say, with no undue coloration). Used with a decent-to-good preamp (say, $150+, simple single channel type), it sounds B-I-G and very pro. The key is to get a loud, clean, clear signal coming out of the preamp into the recording device with the recording device input down quite low (like 1, at most). By letting the preamp do the work (but keeping it clean), you will get that up-close "enlarged" sound you hear in pro recordings. The AT2035, in my opinion, beats out just about every other mic I've heard for under $300 or so. A great combo for a small studio would be an AT2035 and, for contrast, 1 of those extra-bright, "sheeny" German/Austrian-style mics that sell for around twice what the AT2935 sells for. But get this one first. For all types of vocalists, it gets good results. Not sure what else it does well, but I got it for voice, and it delivers the goods. I love mine.

Great mic!! Nothing better under $200......

By LG414

from Milwaukee, WI

Comments about Audio-Technica AT2035 Large Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

I use this mic in a home recording studio for Rap & RnB.... Good clean sound...the 10 db pad helps to pull out alot of the background noise and the 80hz low end filter pullout the hum and rumble noise. Makes for less work in post production. Im sure there are higher end mics out there with better sound quality but they probably cost alot more.... In the $200 range this is def A-1.

Outstanding Mic

By Scott Turner

from Little Rock, AR

Comments about Audio-Technica AT2035 Large Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

I've gone through many mics in the past, MXL, Radio Shack, Sterling Audio, Blue, and others, this this mic is the most true and smoothing sounding mics I've ever used. The lows or base is not too low and the highs are not over extended. It actually records voice as it comes from the recording artist. One feature I really like is the -10db attenuation switch on the back of the mic. This allows for muting any room noise that's not immediately around the mic and allows for a very clean recording. For my recording setup, it does have a little higher hiss response, but I'm not concerned because I can take this out with software and product a perfectly clean recording. Overall, an excellent mic.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT2035 Large Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

About a year ago, while researching equipment for setting up my first small, home-recording studio, I settled on the AT2035, and this was simply because it provided the virtual flat, truly accurate response I was hoping to record, especially when attempting to capture the wonderful sound of my 1938 Gibson L00.

Since I purchased two (for stereo recording), and since I've just now started using them, I've never been more satisfied with the professional quality of their construction as well as in their ease of use, especially when I add any other instrument (including voice# to the mix.

If anyone was trying to do the same as me #especially with a limited budget), I know they would be fully content with the performance of the AT2035 - they are worth every penny.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT2035 Large Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

I have used many studio mics over the years and never come across a mic that costs so little and sounds so great! I have A-B'd it against my TLM-103 and much prefer the sound of the AT-2035 to the Neumann. Considering I purchased three of them for less than a third the cost of one TLM-103, I am thoroughly satisfied!!!

You won't find a better deal.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT2035 Large Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

I'm a rapper and producer from Malaysia.
Previously I was using the M-Audio Nova condenser mic. I wouldn't say that It was bad but I wasn't satisfied with the quality I got from it. So when i decided to change to another mic, I came across the AT2035 and purchased it. I must say I was more than amazed! Such quality and clarity! If you're really familiar with EQ's and compression, there's no doubt that you can get the sound want from the AT2035. I'm more than satisfied! Amazing mic! Amazing price!

I'll do another review post soon with link to the video of my song recorded through AT2035.

Till then, great job Audio-Technica! Wonderful product!

Comments about Audio-Technica AT2035 Large Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

Great mic for vocals and has a wider field than I was expecting. My only nit picky negative was the shock mount was VERY tight (good thing) and hard to put on. It's plastic so I took my time working it onto the mic base without problem, but . . .. I bought this based on specs being similar to much more expensive mics and was very pleased!

Comments about Audio-Technica AT2035 Large Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

This is a step up from the AT2020 ... comes with a shockmount (that you have to use, since its the only mic mount that is delivered with it...no threads), a rolloff switch and a 10db pad. The shockmount is snug enough to allow many positions for the side address mic and the LC capsule is very good for the bargain price.
