Good Headphones

I have used a pair of these Audio Technica ATH-M40fs headphones in my project studio for about four years now. They have an extremely flat response curve and I find that I can get a mix in the ballpark using these and then use nearfields for final tweaks and adjustments. I also use them for tracking and find that they work well as an all-around headphone set in the studio. The cables are truly field replaceable. I have stepped on the cable two different times while moving quickly around my studio in such a way that the cord received an extremely sudden tug that would have broken any cable. On both occasions I called Audio Technica and for a relatively nominal fee they sent me replacement cables that were easy to install. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a mid-level pair of all-around studio headphones.

Sound is IMPORTANT!

Amazing headphones! I didn't want to spend excesses of $100+ for a set of headphones. I tried several lower prices brands and found these to deliver more punch and sonic goodness where others fail. Every nuance of each instrument can be heard with amazing clarity...be it yourself jamming or listening to a CD. The price tag is excellent for the quality of Sound. If your like me, sound is EVERYTHING! Get these headphones ASAP!

Good All Around Headphones

These are good all purpose headphones for the money. I have used then for both tracking and mixing and they do work fairly well for both. Their flat response makes them a little unexciting. This should be noted especially when tracking since if you want the best performance you want your headphones to have an exciting mix in them. With mixing I more use them as another listening too. On detail they really can?t compare to some good near field monitors, but what do you expect!
