Comments about Aquarian Force Ten Clear Tom Head:

I've been switching from coated to clear each year, mainly with Aquarian heads. I had many different Aquarian heads such as, Response 2's, Super 2's, and Force Ten. I've mainly used the Force Ten coated because I wanted something warm for the stuff I play. I decided to change it up and get the clear version of it. I don't regret it at all. A lot of attack to where I like it. I have yet to use it in a studio environment and live since I recently just changed it.

Thick, chunky sound on toms. Solid feel. Great durability (would be hard to dent these guys up). My new rock gig head.

      Worst Head I've Ever Played

      By TJ_Wuth

      About Me Professional Musician

Comments about Aquarian Force Ten Clear Tom Head:

I'll start with the pros, this head can take a beating and last forever. Now onto the cons, this head sounds terrible and will last forever. I was given a set of these heads by mistake. I prefer coated heads on my toms but since I'm a big fan of Aquarian heads I thought I'd give them a shot. Read through the other reviews of this head and you'll see that people love how much of a beating it can take and how much attack it has. It can take a beating for sure and has a ton of attack, but that's my problem with it - the attack overpowers the sustain, so while you can get a lot of sustain from this head, it is simply unbalanced. This makes it sound quite dead and not very musical at all. If you play metal, this might be ok for you, but that's all I think this head is good for. It's so thick and molded that it is difficult to tune low since the head does not make good contact with the bearing edge unless it's forced down more than what I like. As you tighten it, the overtones are not pleasing and then it quickly chokes so it does not have a very wide tuning range and on bigger toms it starts to sound like hitting paper if you try to tune it low. I'm a live sound engineer as well and prefer to close mic all drums so I want a drum that sounds good first. I don't need something I can abuse, the mics let me focus on getting the tone I want and allow me to play with dynamics. So unless you just really like to pound on your skins, then I'd pass on this head.

Comments about Aquarian Force Ten Clear Tom Head:

This review comes after 1 1/2 years of usage so far. These heads are as durable as they say they are and I do hit hard (with right technique of course. This head has the most attack out of all the Aquarian heads I've played so far. Whether tone high or low, the attack and presence of these heads are still the same. These do keep a good amount of reso for being a 2 ply head, and that's what I love about them. I would say these are Response 2's on steroids, but they respectfully don't line up in description except for them both being 2 ply heads. Players of 2 ply heads will enjoy these.

Comments about Aquarian Force Ten Clear Tom Head:

I play in a loud, heavy, doom metal band (I use 2B's, guitar player has 3 4x12 cabs, bass is an SVT 8x10) so I can put dents in Pinstripes, Emperors, G2's in one show but I was absolutely floored when I paid extra for these thicker heads for the toms and they last for an entire USA tour last year!! The larger the tom and looser the tuning the easier heads are to dent, but not with these! Pay the extra now and be stoked later when you realize they're still holding up after 30 live gigs!

        Surprising tone!

Comments about Aquarian Force Ten Clear Tom Head:

I amazed with these heads! They are super thick, durability and punch are out of the question, but the tone is what got me. It has good tone, as if it was any other 2 ply head, and yet it is 6mm thicker. Amazing head, I can beat this head beyond the point of reason, and it still wouldn't dent. I love it. Get this head if you need maximum power, and are a heavy hitter.

Comments about Aquarian Force Ten Clear Tom Head:

Any time that a drumhead has killer tone with it not even touching the drum, applying that head to a shell could only mean devastation. Try holding this head in your hand and give it a tap. You'll become a believer like I have. TeamAquarian

            Heavy hitters take note.
If you go through heads quickly, this is for you.
More durable than any 2 ply head I've ever played, but it doesn't sound "dead". How can this be? I'm sure there is some logical scientific explanation, but I don't care... IT WORKS! If you currently use Pinstripes, EC2's...etc... give these a whirl. SO FAR they have lasted 3 times as long as either of those 2, yet they still sound like I put them on an hour ago.

Comments about Aquarian Force Ten Clear Tom Head:

this head is thick enough to take my punishment and STILL have a fat tone to it. JUST what I needed!
This head is thick, just like I needed to be. it keeps the tone still too.
Very well build SOLID drum head with tone still, you can still hear it's thickness but still have a decent tone out of it. I am using it with a pdp maple drum. I am impressed.
