I own a steel snare drum and have never been happy with its sound. I have tried different heads on it and could not get that sound I was looking for. Well I tried the Carmine Appice head as my batter head and it is like a different drum! The tone of the drum has changed, it sounds like an expensive snare. The overtones were still slightly there so I slapped on a moon gel and it finished it!I would like to mention that I use an Evans HD Dry batter head as my bottom head, tuned slightly lower than the batter head. This reduced my overtones even more and makes the drum sound thicker. If this Aquarian head can make my Pearl import steel drum sound good I can only imagine what it would do for a maple head with the right bottom head!

Why I will keep buying this

By Preston 1335

I resently bought this just to use for my set at home. The first time I used it I loved it soo much that I even bought it for my other set that I use to perform. I was amaized at how good these withstand my beating. I will keep buying these again and again. They even are stylish. I love this drumhead and im sure you will also.

Quite impressive

Been drummin for 10 years, and I found this skin to be my favorite so far. I play a 6.5 x 14 pearl free floater snare, and this head brings out the full, beautiful tonal quallity of the rich, deep maple. It prevents any overtones with its thin power dot and muffle-ring. If you want to bring out the sound of your snare, this head is your best bet (for those of you with the standard fear of overtones, please consider this skin although it is only a single-ply clear.. It does the job perfectly).

Great Snare Head

One of many of the heads I used on my troublesome maple snare. This head got rid of most of the echo of the drum, but didn't completely muffle it, which lets you use it for many different styles with an extra studio ring. Overall great head for maple drums.
