  • I'm dissapointed

    On one hand, this is a nice sounding head. On the other hand i got mine a week ago and it broke(a week later), it was probably a fluke, but im not gonna risk getting another. I dont know, id say try it because what occurred was probably very rare.

    I don't know but I had a really hard time with the 16 inch. And an other thing this head produces the most choked sound I have ever heard, not a good head if you like a low end sound. BUY PINSTRIPES!

  • Aquarian Buff says so-so

    I have used nothing but aquarian heads on my entire Jazz kit since I got the kit. I love the long lasting coating of these heads. I would only use aquarians on my rock kit toms (but I don't). Overall, I am a fan of the Super-2's over the Studio X. On the toms X's are pretty weak to the S-2's. On the snare the one ply heads have a odd ring to them that I have a hard time tuning true or out... years of experience tuning. The other thing is that tight tension on these coated heads by aquarian heads make them prone to rim-rips. Or rather, if you hit your stick too hard at the edge of your head you rip it where it touches the drumshell (my snare is nicely bevelled even). Try the Studio X if you like ringy snares. Otherwise Super-2 coated is the way to go.
