Applied Microphone Technology AMT HR2 Clip On Harmonica Condenser Microphone (270980)
Availability:

The only harmonica microphone on the market usable with a harp rack!

The HR2 is a clip-on Harmonica Microphone system for diatonic harmonica’s. The system is low in profile, which allows it to be used with a standard neck harness. Or be held in the hand of a player while holding the instrument.
Hand made in the USA, the microphone comes with spring-loaded clips to attach to the Harmonica and can easily fit into most neck braces on the market today. Compact cylindrical design handles sound pressure levels well above 141dB. Rugged and lightweight anodized aviation aluminum for a very well built and durable construction.

The HR2 is designed to achieve a flat and natural sound reproduction of the instrument. To achieve the distorted “Chicago Blues” sound, one can overdrive the stage amplifier or use with an overdrive processor rather than distorting the microphone. Comes complete with soft case and a belt pack style preamp with 1/4in output. Phantom power or 9 volt battery required.

  • made my life easier

As reviewed by Dale on 7/30/2011

I play bass while playing harmonica on a neck brace and sing as well, but not while playing harp, ha ha. Having to also concentrate on staying near the microphone was an extra burden that i no longer have. i am now free to concentrate on playing while i am playing, which is daunting enough for me. Total freedom to move around. Woohoo!!!! Sound quality is good, but a little sterile for me as i go straight into a mixing board, so i pulled an old Yamaha multieffecter out of the closet and set a program for a little distortion and a little more reverb. Tonal nirvana. I built a little anvil style briefcase and cut foam to hold the effects, the microphone pre-ampand a few harps. I can take this anywhere and plug into a board and go. Still using the original battery after six months!!!! This is great!!!! The mic stays in my harp brace and harps slide in and out easily.

  • The End.

As reviewed by D/R on 5/25/2010

This thing is the bomb, a serious game changer. I have been waiting 25 years for this piece of gear to be invented. I am way more than pleased with this bad boy. The tone is SICKENING! I run it through a tube compressor, E.Q. it, then delay it, drive it into a Fender tube amp. Balls. Balls. Balls. If you can actually play the harp in the rack, you?re a fool to be without this mic. I have already bought a second as a spare, I?ll never set onstage without this mic again. Never had so much fun playing. If you get the guy on the phone that makes it, he is more knowledgeable about his product as anyone could expect. The only thing I didn?t like is that the belt pack is a little flimsy, but I take that in stride. Buy it! Now only if they made it in black?.
