The latest dual-core Intel Core i5 processors come standard on Apple's Mac mini. With up to two times the performance of the previous generation, Mac mini keeps up with computers twice its size.
When you’re using processor-intensive applications, Turbo Boost 2.0 increases the clock speed up to 3.4GHz. Hyper-Threading lets each core run two threads, so OS X multitasks even more efficiently. An integrated memory controller connects fast 1333MHz memory directly to the processor, so it gets right to work on your data. The Intel HD Graphics processor in the 2.3GHz Mac mini delivers plenty of power for everyday tasks like managing photos and editing HD video.
The new Thunderbolt technology in Mac mini features two 10-Gbps channels for data transfer. That’s up to 12 times faster than FireWire 800 and up to 20 times faster than USB 2.0. You can daisy-chain as many as six Thunderbolt peripherals, including the new Apple Thunderbolt Display. And since Thunderbolt is based on DisplayPort technology, your Mini DisplayPort devices plug in as well.
A built-in SDXC card slot makes it easy to import photos and videos from your digital cameras. And four USB 2.0 ports and a FireWire 800 port let you plug in your keyboard, mouse, iPod, iPhone, iPad, digital camera, DV camcorder, external hard drive, printer, and just about any other device you use.
The latest 802.11n wireless technology is built into every Mac mini. It automatically connects to your Wi-Fi network, so you can surf the web, print, and stream your music wirelessly. Bluetooth wireless technology is also built in, so you can connect accessories such as a wireless keyboard and mouse.
It’s easy to connect Mac mini to any HD screen in the house courtesy of a built-in HDMI port. All it takes is one HDMI cable to start enjoying movies and TV shows from iTunes, surfing the web, and flipping through your photo library, all in brilliant HD. There’s also a control that lets you adjust the output on Mac mini to fill even the biggest HDTV screen. And when you just want to listen to music, you can play your entire iTunes collection through your home entertainment center.
Mac mini 2.3 comes with a 500GB hard drive, as well as 2GB 1333MHz DDR3 memory, and thanks to a removable bottom panel, it’s easy to add more.

Comments about Apple Mac Mini 2.3/2X1G/500/AP/BT:
I made the switch from PC and i had the idea it was going to be so hard leaning the OS. It was a breeze most things are the same and whats not is easy to find and won't hold you up long. Even with the smallest processor in the group of mini's and the least amount of ram its still SNAPPY. Wireless connection is pretty good i can't complain about it. It needs a disk drive but i suppose the externals aren't so expensive to purchase and for me CD's and DVD's are a clutter so no i have the chance to build a digital library. If it had a disc drive it would be 5 stars because the remote disc sucks it's only for installing software and will not play music. Good to make the switch i got it so i would learn the OS and see if like mac before i spent tons on their other products.
