Overview

The 2.53GHz MacBook Pro 15.4" laptop computer is carved from a single block of aluminum—a true engineering achievement. The MacBook Pro's unibody enclosure is the product of precise machining. From the thumbscoop to the now-you-see-it-now-you-don't sleep indicator light, no detail is unaccounted for. The end result is a notebook computer that's not only breakthrough, but thin, light, polished, and refined. The unibody also makes MacBook Pro more durable than ever. So you can throw your MacBook in your briefcase or messenger bag and pull it out at an airport, at school, at the office, or on location without a second thought.

The longest-lasting Mac notebook battery ever
Built right into each of this generation of MacBook Pro notebook computers is a breakthrough battery that lasts dramatically longer and does so without increasing the size or weight of your MacBook Pro. On a single charge, the battery lasts up to 7 hours and can be recharged up to 1000 times. That's compared with only 200 to 300 times for typical notebooks. Advanced chemistry and Adaptive Charging allows the battery to maintain charging capabilities longer and determines the optimal way to charge the battery's cells. Because the battery lasts up to five years, MacBook Pro uses just one battery in the same time a typical notebook uses three. That makes for less waste. And that, in turn, makes for one environmentally friendly battery.

Graphics in full force
The MacBook Pro reaches a new level of high-speed, high-end game-playing power. Not to mention pure performance for graphics-intensive applications like Aperture and Motion. The power-saving NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics processor inside every MacBook Pro is great for everyday performance, while delivering long battery life.

A display of brilliance
The moment you open your new MacBook Pro you're greeted by glorious, full-screen brightness. But that's only one gleaming quality of the glossy LED-backlit widescreen display. It offers a 60 percent greater color gamut than previous generations for richer, more vibrant colors. Anything you view—including the ultrathin display itself—is a spectacular experience. The seamless glass enclosure makes this display strong and durable. And the display is power efficient and mercury- and arsenic-free, so it's greener than ever.

Even the keyboard is advanced
The rigid aluminum keyboard you get with your MacBook Pro features webbing that has been cut precisely to hold the keys. The keys are curved to perfectly fit fingers for pure typing bliss. The keyboard is also illuminated, so when you're in low-light settings, such as airplanes or conference rooms, you can always see what you're typing.

It all just clicks
The first thing you might notice about the MacBook Pro's trackpad—or not notice—is the button. The entire trackpad is the button, so you can click anywhere. Without a separate button, the spacious trackpad gives your hands plenty of room to move on the large, silky glass surface. Use two fingers to scroll up and down a page. Pinch to zoom in and out. Rotate an image with your fingertips. Swipe with three fingers to flip through your photo libraries. Swipe with four fingers to show your desktop, view all open windows, or switch applications. If you're coming from a right-click world, you can right-click with two fingers or configure a right-click area on the trackpad. The more you use the Multi-Touch trackpad, the more you'll wonder what you ever did without it.

Everything fits
Each MacBook Pro comes standard with a large hard drive—in this case 250GB of storage capacity, so there's plenty of room for your photo libraries, video projects, and files. MacBook Pro also features ample high-speed 1066MHz DDR3 memory, with support for up to 8GB of RAM (comes with 4GB), so you can run more applications at once and quickly access your data and media.

Think fast
Inside this 15.4" MacBook Pro is a fast Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.53GHz. The processor is based on groundbreaking 45-nm process technology and advanced Core microarchitecture. With the 1066MHz frontside bus and 3MB of shared L2 cache, your MacBook Pro runs applications faster and more efficiently than ever before.

Ports with possibilities
Every MacBook Pro is ready to work with your iPod, iPhone, digital camera, or external hard drive. If it has a cable, there's a place for it. You'll find two USB 2.0 ports and a FireWire 800 port for connecting faster peripherals. MacBook Pro even recognizes what you plug in, so you don't have to install new drivers.

From camera to computer, in an instant
Transfer your photos and videos to and from your MacBook Pro just as fast as you're able to take them. Built into the 15.4" MacBook Pro is an SD card slot so you can edit and share your photos and digital video on the spot.

Your studio to go
With the latest 802.11n wireless technology built into MacBook Pro, you're always seamlessly and effortlessly connected to the wireless world out there, at home, and at work. MacBook Pro automatically finds available networks and allows you to join them with just one click. Bluetooth capabilities are also built in, so brilliant accessories can become your wireless accomplices. With a built-in battery that lasts longer than ever before, you can do everything you need to do, where you need to do it.

Burn DVDs superfast
After editing and applying the finishing touches to your home movie masterpiece in iMovie and iDVD, use the ultrafast 8x SuperDrive on your MacBook Pro to burn it to DVD. The SuperDrive also writes to double-layer discs (DVDs with nearly 9GB of space), so it's great for backing up data too.

The best laptop I've ever used!

By Carl Ghazarian

from Glendale, CA

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro (2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 8x SuperDrive):

I got this laptop when my former decided to get on a live click system. I thought I'd having problems switching between songs on stage or getting buffer problems but boy was I wrong. The laptop came through with amazing results! I currently use it for Pro Tools LE and have to say that it comes through for me every time. Be it writing a song or recording a band.

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro (2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 8x SuperDrive):

I bought this macbook for school, it immediately became the greatest investment. The performance is out of this world and the graphics are just incredible. The mouse pad will change the way you maneuver through windows or the way you surf the web.

Switch from PC. NOW!

By Pars

from Rockville, MD

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro (2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 8x SuperDrive):

Every aspect of a mac is relation to recording is better than that of PC. Macs are built for this kind of multimedia stuff, where as PCs are built to be all around machines. I can't even tell you how many times I encountered processing issues when I was recording on a PC. Now that I'm on the Mac, I haven't had an issue yet. If you want easy recording, tabbing, and everything else music related, the MacBook Pro is for you!

A Gem Keeper

By Jason Groucott

from Orlando, Florida

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro (2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 8x SuperDrive):

My Mac Book Pro is my recording studio, my musical gear, my art studio and my office. In one small 'carry around' laptop, I execute professional recordings, produce quality music and finish with excellent final mixes and masters. On the administrative end I market and distribute my work through it's wireless internet, organize and invoice for my work and manage my business and bank accounts. All mobile. And this is only a small part of what the Mac Book Pro is capable of accomplishing seamlessly. It's also entertains and educates my kids while enduring the abuse they may sometimes unleash on it.

Fantastic!!

By Justin

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro (2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 8x SuperDrive):

I just got this laptop and it is fantastic! only drawback it has is the fact that Windows have been popular longer so there are more Windows compatible programs out there. but I'm sure that will eventually change. Garageband on this is sufficient enough for all the music related things I do. I highly recommend it especially if you are a musician!

Not your average laptop

By Chris

from CT

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro (2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 8x SuperDrive):

Where to begin? The Macbook Pro has excellent battery life; it's reliable, powerful and can do a wide variety of things with little effort. I grew up on PCs, but switching over to Apple was a painless transition. I switched because I wanted to take advantage of all the recording products that are Mac only. My recording setup is based around Logic and the Apogee Ensemble and they've been integrated well. If you're into video production, you'll most likely love a lot of the software available. For a laptop I've found I could get pretty good track counts without running into many issues. For those of you that still like Windows, you can always use Mac's "Boot Camp" app which allows you to boot up the laptop with Windows instead of OS X and I've found the speed was quicker than my old Dell Inspiron (if you're a video gamer, this is a huge plus). All in all, easily one of the best products I've ever invested in!
