Overview

The 2.53GHz MacBook Pro 13.3" is carved from a single block of aluminum—a true engineering achievement. The MacBook Pro's unibody enclosure is the product of precise machining. From the thumbscoop to the now-you-see-it-now-you-don't sleep indicator light, no detail of the MacBook Pro is unaccounted for. The end result is a notebook computer that's not only a breakthrough, but also thin, light, polished, and refined. The unibody also makes MacBook Pro more durable than ever. So you can throw your MacBook in your briefcase or messenger bag and pull it out at an airport, at school, at the office, or on location without a second thought.

The longest-lasting Mac notebook battery ever
Built right into each of this generation of MacBook Pro notebook computers is a breakthrough battery that lasts dramatically longer and does so without increasing the size or weight of your MacBook Pro. On a single charge, the battery lasts up to 7 hours and can be recharged up to 1000 times. That's compared with only 200 to 300 times for typical notebooks. Advanced chemistry and Adaptive Charging allows the battery to maintain charging capabilities longer and determines the optimal way to charge the battery's cells. Because the battery lasts up to five years, MacBook Pro uses just one battery in the same time a typical notebook uses three. That makes for less waste. And that, in turn, makes for one environmentally friendly battery.

Graphics in full force
The MacBook Pro reaches a new level of high-speed, high-end game-playing power. Not to mention pure performance for graphics-intensive applications like Aperture and Motion. The power-saving NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics processor inside every MacBook Pro is great for everyday performance, while delivering long battery life.

A display of brilliance
The moment you open your new MacBook Pro you're greeted by glorious, full-screen brightness. But that's only one gleaming quality of the glossy LED-backlit widescreen display. It offers a 60 percent greater color gamut than previous generations for richer, more vibrant colors. Anything you view—including the ultrathin display itself—is a spectacular experience. The seamless glass enclosure makes this display strong and durable. And the display is power efficient and mercury- and arsenic-free, so it's greener than ever.

Even the keyboard is advanced
The rigid aluminum keyboard you get with your MacBook Pro features webbing that has been cut precisely to hold the keys. The keys are curved to perfectly fit fingers for pure typing bliss. The keyboard is also illuminated, so when you're in low-light settings, such as airplanes or conference rooms, you can always see what you're typing.

It all just clicks
The first thing you might notice about the MacBook Pro's trackpad—or not notice—is the button. The entire trackpad is the button, so you can click anywhere. Without a separate button, the spacious trackpad gives your hands plenty of room to move on the large, silky glass surface. Use two fingers to scroll up and down a page. Pinch to zoom in and out. Rotate an image with your fingertips. Swipe with three fingers to flip through your photo libraries. Swipe with four fingers to show your desktop, view all open windows, or switch applications. If you're coming from a right-click world, you can right-click with two fingers or configure a right-click area on the trackpad. The more you use the Multi-Touch trackpad, the more you'll wonder what you ever did without it.

Everything fits
Each MacBook Pro comes standard with a large hard drive—in this case 250GB of storage capacity, so there's plenty of room for your photo libraries, video projects, and files. MacBook Pro also features ample high-speed 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAMM memory, with support for up to 8GB of RAM (comes with 4GB), so you can run more applications at once and quickly access your data and media.

Think fast
Inside this 13.3" MacBook Pro is a fast Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.53GHz. The processor is based on groundbreaking 45-nm process technology and advanced Core microarchitecture. With the 1066MHz frontside bus and 3MB of shared L2 cache, your MacBook Pro runs applications faster and more efficiently than ever before.

Ports with possibilities
Every MacBook Pro is ready to work with your iPod, iPhone, digital camera, or external hard drive. If it has a cable, there's a place for it. You'll find two USB 2.0 ports and a FireWire 800 port for connecting faster peripherals. MacBook Pro even recognizes what you plug in, so you don't have to install new drivers.

From camera to computer, in an instant
Transfer your photos and videos to and from your MacBook Pro just as fast as you're able to take them. Built into the 13.3" MacBook Pro is an SD card slot so you can edit and share your photos and digital video on the spot.

Your studio to go
With the latest 802.11n wireless technology built into MacBook Pro, you're always seamlessly and effortlessly connected to the wireless world out there, at home, and at work. MacBook Pro automatically finds available networks and allows you to join them with just one click. Bluetooth capabilities are also built in, so brilliant accessories can become your wireless accomplices. With a built-in battery that lasts longer than ever before, you can do everything you need to do, where you need to do it.

Burn DVDs superfast
After editing and applying the finishing touches to your home movie masterpiece in iMovie and iDVD, use the ultrafast 8x SuperDrive on your MacBook Pro to burn it to DVD. The SuperDrive also writes to double-layer discs (DVDs with nearly 9GB of space), so it's great for backing up data too.

Must have for all things creative!

    By Christian Hermida

    from Chula Vista, CA

Comments about Apple 13.3" MacBook Pro (2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 8x SuperDrive):

Apple has really outdone themselves with this product! The amazing 2.53 GHz processor is blazing fast, even for the most audio intensive tasks. I have ran Digital Performer 7, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Reason 4, and many different film editing software and nothing slows this machine down. RAM: The impressive 4GB DDR3 RAM boast extreme speed when running very CPU hogging AU/VST plug ins. From Waves to Superior Drummer, the 4GB RAM does the job well. Graphics: The GeForce series has been renowned as a top notch performance card, and it sure does look amazing on the 13.3" display. The card is perfect for video rendering, gaming, and of course up to a triple monitor set up. All in all, this machine is by far the best laptop for the buck. I highly recommend it for any musician, creative, or even the average user.

    By Ian

Comments about Apple 13.3" MacBook Pro (2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 8x SuperDrive):

I work in a computer support group and I can tell you these machines can be workhorses! Very rarely do I ever see them back in for repair. I have used this machine out in the field for several live shows and it has never failed me once. Virtual instruments load quickly, recording never fails and it is also very portable. Add to that the fact that you can put an operating system you want on this machine and it is a no brainer!

    Great Computer

    By Kole Vaughn

    from huntington beach, ca

Comments about Apple 13.3" MacBook Pro (2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 8x SuperDrive):

I got this computer earlier this year strictly for music recording and I love it. I was anti-mac before this but now I'll never go back. I use Pro Tools 8 on it and the only problem I have with it sometimes is that it oftentimes says that I don't have enough memory even though this computer has plenty. If you're strictly doing high quality recording I would probably go with a desktop, otherwise this computer is great.

Comments about Apple 13.3" MacBook Pro (2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 8x SuperDrive):

Look, this is an excellent computer for 99% of home users, thats what it was designed for and it suits its role near perfectly, its not a gamers rig, or a million terraflops wonder computer or even a sandwich press, its just a very nice home computer. I'll say it now and get it out of the way, i'm bias towards apple products,i see no real issues with the computer. that being said I am aware that there are things they can't do, but it is universal with every piece of hardware i have. Plus its beautiful.

I have owned many pc's in the past few years. No pc comes close to the apple macbook. For me Pc's were nothing but problems whether obtaining viruses and the computer crashing or just running slow when it should be running fast really annoyed me. The macbook hasn't given me a problem yet. I am very pleased with this product and recommend to everyone.

With this product you can do multiple activities at a time. "Spaces" helps you organize your work spaces so you can multi-task to the max. I love the new track pad its amazing. And this new one has way better speakers then the mac I owned 5 years ago. I'm totally sold and in love with this macbook.

    I am a Mac and I'm proud.

    By Darrin Moen

    from Burbank, California

Comments about Apple 13.3" MacBook Pro (2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 8x SuperDrive):

I had originally purchased this computer for school in hopes that It would be easy to use. It turned out to be so much more than I hoped for. Heres what makes this laptop special: The aluminum casing is extremely durable and it has taken abuse and accidental spills without any damage what so ever. I have used it every day for about 7 hours without noticing any loss in the battery charge. It is extremely fast and convenient to hook up to the internet. It is fully loaded with all the software you will need and many extra amazing programs. The coolest has to be garage band, It is essentially a recording interface for any instrument. It comes loaded with amazing amp models, and effect pedals. What makes it different from all your other recording systems is how simple it is to use. I am by no means good with computers, but I was able to record, sample, and mix music within minutes. It is able to take your guitar and become your amplifier and effects processor in one easy step. It has become just as important to my music as my guitar. This computer has really opened the door to music recording. I recommend this to anyone interested in recording, and producing music, you will be amazed at how simple it becomes with this computer.

i manage my band, play in my band, and handle all of the recordings for my band, and this computer has everything that i need to edit our music while on the bus, or doing nothing in class. it runs garage band so well that i have to assume this computer was made just to run garage band. it's great, and this is one of the best prices you're going to be able to find on this lab top. unless you want one with a smashed in screen or one that is missing most of its inner parts (yay internet)
