Is this thing on? – Status and level indication
It’s easy to tell if MiC is connected properly by the status LED on the front of MiC. If it’s green, you are ready to record and the light becomes your input level indicator. If it turns red, you are rockin' the MiC too hard and need to turn your level down with the input gain control knob.
Check 1, 2... dial it in with easy level control
MiC features an input gain control knob. This rotary style wheel is conveniently located on the side of MiC for easy thumb access. With the level indication LED as your guide, the gain control knob allows you to fine tune for the perfect level without having to look at software.

It's amazing, and it does what it's supposed to. Digitizes analog audio and does so fantastically. Gain control is easy to use. And hooks right into a computer or i-device. Super slick quality too: in the build and in the sound. Really accessibly for beginners. Thanks!
The Apogee Mic is worth every penny. Extremely quiet and low noise. Used it to record a twelve string guitar and voice. Also, acoustic violin will be recorded .using it. I am waiting to get the adapter for a mic stand so I can place it closer to the instrument or voice being recorded. The included tripod works fine though if you're on a tight budget. Lastly, Apogee is made in the USA. Easy to figure out for use with iOS and USB for iMac or PC. Also, the perfect companion with the Apogee jam interface.
I take this mic around with me to all my students- and I love it! The sound quality is pretty decent, and the fact that it plugs into both the computer USB and into my iPhone 4s is great! I'm not sure if they sell a plug yet for the iPhone 5/5s yet, but I'm sure they'll come out with an adaptor if they don't have one already. But the sound quality is cool- it's way better than my phone and computer built-in microphones; It's small and versatile, and takes about two minutes to setup. The on-board meter tells me if my levels are peaking or not, so I try to keep everything in the orange range. Great product, definitely recommended, as long as you need versatility! Don't expect $1000+ mic quality for a $200 product, but the sound is very decent!!!
Fantastic sound and convenience, records to both Mac and iOS devices. Highly recommended, and please note that the negative reviews posted here are from the same person, mostly complaining about the price! You get what you pay for, and I did a lot of research before I got mine. Love it!
This product is just ok. For this quality,it is too expensive. It is just good enough for the job. I won't recommend it for this price. Also once you bought it you are trapped. Guitar center wont take it back.
This microphone is very ordinary for the price. Also, Once you buy it, you can't return it ( GC policy for microphone's). Also to make use of this product , you have to spend extra $60 for mic stand adapter and cable. The cable which comes with the product is very small . I won't recommend.
this microphone works great! originally i was looking for a blue yeti microphone. but, i saw the apogee MiC and it was small, i could plug into my computer or iphone or iPad, and it was studio quality. i actually could not believe how small it was when i took it out of the box. but it is amazing! i use it more on my mac now but i used to use it for my iPhone, the great thing thing is that you can use it while video taping on an idevice. i have had it for a month and now i have a studio quality microphone that i can use to record my songs on garageband or any other music recording software. i really recommend this product to anyone who wants a studio quality mic with a smaller budget :D
I have been waiting for Apogee to come out with a microphone for the ipad/iphone since I got their Apogee Jam guitar input awhile back. I have had it for a week or two now, and I am already really impressed with the clarity and crispness of audio recordings that I have created with this. I have created some vocal tracks in garage band, and done some foley work recording sound effects for a video game and the mike seems to be very flexible. The only thing I could possibly count as a negative would be that there isn't a way to extend the cable further. I am very impressed at how simple it is to get really good sound out of this mike. Software: Tested this with Garage band for Ipad, still need to find a good program for pod casting style recording though.
