A big anniversary deserves a big celebration, so when Apogee hit their 30-year milestone, it was only fitting they'd come out with something great to mark the occasion. That something is the Apogee Element series of interfaces, designed to offer the sound quality of Apogee's flagship Ensemble Thunderbolt hardware in a package affordable enough for any studio. They're the intro models for a new control system that has plenty to offer on both the software and hardware sides of the equation, including latencies below 2ms round-trip when using Logic Pro X. Built to take advantage of Thunderbolt performance, these interfaces promise some fast and accurate results in the studio.

Of course, it goes without saying that choosing the right interface from any series depends on how many channels you need. There are 3 models in this lineup: the Element 24 (10 inputs, 12 outputs), the Element 46 (12 inputs, 14 outputs) and the Element 88 (16 inputs, 16 outputs). The specific connectors vary, but each model comes with Apogee Groove headphone output technology, combi-jack inputs, balanced XLR outputs, BNC word clock connectivity and optical ADAT/SMUX/SPDIF input and output - everything you need for a small but high-end recording setup or hobby studio layout. With the Element 88, you also get some bonus XLR inputs and a pair of balanced 1/4" outputs, making it more than qualified for a professional production environment.

Whether you're a casual musician or a veteran studio engineer, if you use a Mac for your software, a Thunderbolt interface is usually the way to go. It's the newest and best connection that Macs have to offer, so it's safe to say it'll be around for a long time to come - and it outperforms USB by a mile. Apogee Element series interfaces are top candidates for your hardware wish list, with a pretty sweet list of functions and features driven by a top-of-the-line platform derived from Apogee's best pro hardware. Plus, you can take even more control over them with the Element Control software and mobile app or the desktop remote control, putting the power of these interfaces right at your fingertips.
