I have used them since the 1st day I tried them.

By Mike Vaccaro

from Long Beach, CA

Comments about Andreas Eastman Esperto Bb Clarinet Reeds:

There are many companies that make good reeds. The secret is the cane and who has the good cane at any particular time. Right now I think it is Eastman. I use the Esperto cut as it fits my mouthpiece and style of playing best. I always start with a size harder than I need and work them down. This closes the pores of the reed and lets me adjust the vibration of the reed to my particular needs in any style of playing. Good cane, good cut, high percentage of useable reeds out of the box. Eastman for me.

Good reeds

By clarnut

from New England

Comments about Andreas Eastman Esperto Bb Clarinet Reeds:

I bought a box of these to see how they compare to other reeds available. Certainly you can't beat the price. Once I gave them a few days to settle in, and did a couple minor adjustments for balance I spent a few days playing them. I am impressed in the quality. They have a nice clear ringing tone and good response. I will spend some time playing them in a variety of situations to see how flexible they are and determine longevity. I took one star from my rating because I have a question about consistency and quality control. There were a couple of reeds that were cut a little unevenly and were not good players.

dont believe the advertising

By Dana Woodaman

from Portland OR

Comments about Andreas Eastman Esperto Bb Clarinet Reeds:

I thought I would try these and see how they compare with the Vandoren 56 Rue Le Pic. Big mistake! For what I look for in a reed, which is a clear, open sound, these aren't it. They sound muddy, and require way too much breath to try and get a decent tone from. Even dressing the reed with the method I always use didn't work. Guess I will stick with what I know works for me, next time!

Comments about Andreas Eastman Esperto Bb Clarinet Reeds:

I play professionally all the time...I need to sound good.
These reeds have given me a new level of satisfaction I did not know about.
I don't get the negative reviews; prob. they don't get the right reed strength or their
mouthpieces are not happening.Esperto runs a bit strong; try a1/2 strength softer and
see what you hear....Enjoy!

Comparable?!?

By Kevin

from Chantilly, VA

Comments about Andreas Eastman Esperto Bb Clarinet Reeds:

I took advantage of the "Free Eastman Reed Challenge" which stated that I'll be given a free box of comparable Eastman Reeds with the purchase of a competitor reed. Get deal for free reeds... but these reeds are NOWHERE NEAR the level of Vandorens and Ricos. These reeds are by far the CHEAPEST, worst-sounding reeds I've ever used. The sound from these sound so cheap and weak. I guess it's not as bad if you get them for free... but I would never pay anything for these. They're so bad that they're completely useless.
