Warranty
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages. Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website. The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands: Mackie: A 3-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on drivers (where applicable) apply to loudspeakers (active and passive), power amps, powered mixers, and HR studio monitors. This cabinet is a staple, you can not go wrong unless you are in an acoustic band, in which case you will get fired for being too loud and taking up too much realestate. These cabinets sound great and that is why they are a familiar sight in many pro backlines. The cabinet is heavy, but worth the work. If you gig regular, the tolex WILL rip, black gaff tape or a razor and some black spray paint will get you straight, and from the audience, no one will know the difference. If you need a serious pro rock bass cabinet, this is THE cabinet.

soo...i got the 810 cab. but...i'm not quite certain i am impressed by it. i originally had a 4x10 and 1x15 stack. which i believed was exactly the perfect tone. but i was convinced to trade in for this enclosure. what a huge disappoint. the mid range is all there. and...the high are well carried. however...the low end is not very present or represented at all. i have a couple different third parties effects attempted to regain the low end representation...but still fall shy of achieving it. soo...if i were you...i would look into getting something with a little more versatility and variety. ampeg makes great products...so maybe just wait until they make a 4x10, 1x15 full stack cab. as for now...anyone want to buy my 8x10 enclosure?

I did the math...

By JOE

from Rural Illinois

Comments about Ampeg SVT-810E Bass Enclosure:

I did the math, it takes 3.55 fifteen inch speakers to push as much air as eight 10 inch speakers. Radius of a 10" = 5". 5" squared = 25, times pi (3.14)= 78.5 square inches. Times 8 ten inch speakers = 628 sq. inches. Now a 15 inch speaker equals (7.5 x 7.5) x 3.14 = 176.62 sq inches. 176.62 times 4 (speakers) = 706.5 sq. inches, MORE than 8 ten inch speakers. 78.5 square inches more. I'm not a sound engineer, so maybe there's more to it than just the area of speaker sizes? I am an analyst. That being said, I own a CL head and a SVT 410HLF cab and am very impressed. Someday I'd like to get an 810 cab too. Ampeg makes good stuff. I'm sure I'd like the 810HE cab too. Thanks.

This is power

By LISA VALENTICH

from Anaheim California

Comments about Ampeg SVT-810E Bass Enclosure:

So I purchased this along with an Ampeg SVT-3PRO series head (Check out my review on that)last month and I am nothing less than 100% satisfied. Also I play a Fender Jazz Amercian Standard bass. This cab is SO clean sounding. It's SO loud! Like really, really loud. The lows that come out of this cab have an exceptionally clear tone that no matter how loud I take it the sound never distorts. The highs are SO clean and crispy sounding. The Mid's, of boy am I happy with the mid's. With previous amps I've used I've always had trouble finding an amp or cab with a Mid range that sounded just as good as the Lows and Highs. This one has it! The Mid's along with the highs and lows make this one great cab to have. A must have actually. I play occasionally at a rehearsal studio and play with the bass gear they have there. I don't remember exactly the name but it was definitely was a Carvin head and Cab. All I can say is "Night and day". I totally understand all the hype behind this cab. It's a classic and a standard for a reason. I do want to mention that every since I got this I have been blowing away my guitarist, who typically was always a bit louder than me. Not anymore. I find him constantly adjusting his amp trying to keep up with the loudness and clarity that this cab produces. It is pricey, but trust me, YOU ARE PAYING FOR QUALITY! Absolutely worth it, especially if you're a bass player that's getting pretty serious about your sound. I played nothing but combo amps for the past five years and going from combo amps to an Ampeg set up is like going from a VW bug to a Ferrari. AMPEG IS KING!

Comments about Ampeg SVT-810E Bass Enclosure:

As a 30 year music veteran I have been using Ampeg since I was in high school. I play regularly in an AC/DC Tribute Band in Atlanta and play out every weekend (for the past 5 years) in clubs that hold 100 people to arena's with 9000 in the stands. I bought this as a second cab for backup and on stage in large venues where I double up the cabs. This cab is lighter I guess due to plywood vs OSB. My personal opinion is it sounds very brittle and harsh compared to the smooth, creamy and roundness of the older cabs probably due to the plywood and different speakers they now use. I really don't like the sound and wish I would have returned the cab before my time was up to do so. I am going to sell it and find an older one. I haven't had any of the Tolex or caster problems the previous posters mentioned. I have to answer the bottom line question and am recommending Ampeg but not this cabinet. I am a loyal Ampeg customer and continue to buy their products but only used and made in USA. BTW: I play an Ampeg SVT4-Pro thru this cab with no effects and a Music Man Stingray bass.

Comments about Ampeg SVT-810E Bass Enclosure:

I love the sound of this cabinet and wouldn't trade it for another as far as sound is concerned, but for 1000 retail, the tolex is pathetic. It is the absolute worst tolex job I've seen and that's including my 40 year old peavey cabs. I am very disappointed in the already peeling after 2 weeks tolex that looks like it was put on by children. Yet, you get a cabinet for the sound, just disappointing that they don't have more pride in their work. After I spend another 200 to get it tolexed properly, it will be an irreplaceable part of my rig

Comments about Ampeg SVT-810E Bass Enclosure:

I use this cab in conjunction with my SVT4, run bridged mono. POWER POWER POWER! The tone is unmatched, and my rig is the envy of almost every bass player who has come accross it.

You would be stupid not to buy one of these. If you're a pro, or even thinking about playing a live show, this is the cab for you. I got mine for free from a friend who quit. It's an american made cab (good luck finding one of those anymore), and it's beat to hell. The case covering is gone, I've drug the thing down a million flights of stairs, it was hit by a drunk driver, and is covered in "street art" provided by Don't Fret (artist). Still sounds incredible, though. This is the single most reliable hunk of junk I have ever had the pleasure of playing.

Buy. This. Cab. Dummy.

A must have if you want the standard!!

By GoodBYgibsonhellojackson

from Next to Flea!

Comments about Ampeg SVT-810E Bass Enclosure:

As many already know, This is the standard rock bass cab! I cant imagine somebody who plays live music being unhappy with this cab. Unless, your Victor Wooten/ you need special metal speaker cones to be heard/ bad back / you take the bus!
This cab has it all. For being the largest piece of equipment we have to lug around, Ampeg made sure they added a few features to make life easier. It's got wheels, kick plate , solid metal grab handle and I like the plastic sliders down the back! It did not get a 10 because the tolex is very thin and seems to rip easier then any other cab. Also, as many have already mentioned, Its heavy.
To me the quality comes out through the cabinet and speakers! I have played a few different heads through it over the years and it even made a 180watt '83 peavey sound good! I have owned and played through Ampeg 4X10hlf and Ampeg 6X10, even some 2X15's but nothing likes to be pushed as hard as the 8X10. Of course, all the cabs I mentioned have all the deep deep low's one could ever want but Ampeg just got the formula rite on this cab and growls like no other. Just sounds better then anything when in a high gain guitar driven band!!!
Like any of my favorite pieces of gear, Its not cheap! But unless you have already owned one and try'n something new or playing music other then thrash metal, I still don't see the Value in needing to spend more for a cab like Eden, Aguilar, Mesa the list goes on and on. I personally play a Mesa Mpulse600 and I think it has all the tone I would ever need and sounds perfectly balanced through the Ampeg cab. The perfect speaker breakup and The perfect rig for me!

BEST 1000 dollars

By Brett

from Jackson

Comments about Ampeg SVT-810E Bass Enclosure:

this thing is the best enclosure ive ever played out of, it gives you that classic ampeg sound that everybody leaves. when you watch a music video, what cab do you see? .....THIS ONE because it IS the best. and whoever said that the tone of a 1x15 and 4x10 is better, how are you gunna use that live ? when the two different speaker sizes create the notes at different requencies. from 40 feet away you will hear the 4x10 first and then he 1x15 after. Im pretty sure that isnt what you want.
