MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages. Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website. The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands: Mackie: A 3-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on drivers (where applicable) apply to loudspeakers (active and passive), power amps, powered mixers, and HR studio monitors. Comments about Ampeg PF-50T Portaflex 50W Tube Bass Amp Head:

I ordered a PF 50T to replace my '90s solid state Ampeg Rocket Bass 100R. The difference is astounding! Even at 50 watts, the PF 50T is louder than the 100 watt Rocket, plus, with 2 modern outs, you can send a clean signal to a board. Days after receiving the PF I used it at a small-medium size club gig. The sound guy said it was the best sounding bass amp he'd ever heard! To me, it sounds like a blend between an SVT & the vintage flip tops from the 60s. With the gain up, you can get warm overdriven tones, without the harshness of most pedals. My opinion, but I think it sounds best when leaving the ultra low & high out, and using the low, mid, high knobs to dial in your desired tone. If you are after a more modern/slap tone, the ultra high works nicely, but I prefer that good ol' "round sound" Ampeg is known for. Paired with a 115 HE, the PF 50T sounds huge, warm, and provides a satisfying rumble. Plus, it looks and sounds like the classic, without the drawbacks of weight, low volume, and limited tone options. The head & 115 cab have a combined weight of just over 60 lbs, which isn't so bad on the back. Casters & a quality speaker cable are provided with the cab, and can be stored, along with small gear, in the cab itself. Overall, I am VERY satisfied with this Ampeg product & would recommend it to bassists who prefer a more vintage look & tone.

Comments about Ampeg PF-50T Portaflex 50W Tube Bass Amp Head:

"Tone Matters" and only tubes can truly deliver that warm, butter smooth tone without any harshness or muddy fake lows to make your bass sound like you travel with your own sound tech. I paired the PF-50T with Ampegs PF-112HLF cabinet and I am totally blown away with how easy it is now to take a light wight / portable rig with the monster fat tones I could only get from the back breaking SVT and the sound man loves the options he has with the two DI outs and their versitilaty. I play only passive basses and with just a little tweaking of the tone controls, I can go from vintage old school tone to a mind blowing modern slap tone with just this small rig.( The PF-112HLF is a superstar in it's own right ) Plus, if you really want to drive the tubes or back them off for a thinner tone, you can do so with the user bias control that is easy to understand and use on the back of the amp. I haven't taken it into the studio yet, but I can't wait to hear it in a very controlled situation.

    Service and delivery comments:

Dealing with Nathan Till and his staff of sales professionals at the Bartlett, TN location is and has been since the day I walked in for the first time been the best retail experience in over 30 years...... they provide the knowledge and comfortable/laid back buying atmosphere that music stores had during the '70's when live music ruled.
