Overview

Add the PF-500 Portaflex and PF115HE Stack from Ampeg to your road gear and ensure your bass will get all the love it deserves in the mix. Featuring the PF-115HE with it's 15" Eminence driver and the PF-500 Portaflex with it's 500W of driving power, and you'll be hitting the high road with your low end.

PF-115HE Bass Speaker Cab
Drawing from the classic design of Ampeg's legendary Portaflex cabinets, the PF-115HE bass speaker cabinet combines vintage styling with the performance of a modern 450W cab.

The PF-115HE's 15" Eminence driver pushes out true Ampeg tone along with a 1" high-frequency driver with a level control for dialing in the perfect amount of highs.

Best of all, since it's a Portaflex, you can attach any PF Series head to the top, flip it inside and hit the road Ampeg style.

PF-500 Portaflex
Ampeg's Portaflex PF-500 bass head delivers a staggering 500W of power in an ultra-compact design providing pure Ampeg tone in an extremely portable package. Precise tone controls and gig-friendly input/output options provide ultimate flexibility. Pair it with Ampeg's PF Series flip-top cabinets for the vintage styling and portability of the iconic Portaflex originals.

The tone stack on the PF-500 provides an extensive array of tone controls for shaping your sound. Bass, mid, and treble controls come standard with a 5-position mid switch for finding the perfect midrange level for your sound. Ultra Hi/Lo boosts add even more on-the-fly options, and an onboard compressor keeps your levels in check and your tone punchy and tight.

At the gig or in the studio, the PF-500 is ready for action with a balanced direct out with pre/post-EQ selector, -40dB pad, and ground lift. An effects loop with dedicated mix control is footswitchable with the optional Ampeg AFP2 2-button switch.

Warranty
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages. Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website. The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands: Mackie: A 3-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on drivers (where applicable) apply to loudspeakers (active and passive), power amps, powered mixers, and HR studio monitors. Good concept, bad execution

By PHIL

from Cedar Rapids, IA

Comments about Ampeg PF-500 Portaflex and PF-115HE Stack:

I ordered an extra 15 cabinet with this combo. One had no casters, the other's caster bag (dangling inside with Velcro) swung far enough in transit to crack the speaker magnet. So I took the chips, put them back to achieve a semi-round magnet again, and duct-taped it all together. Great design, folks. Also no long screws for the head to mount, so I cut my own. Foam tape around the lid already coming loose. Oh, and my 200W Acoustic head is just as loud, and more clear than the "500W" head here. And that's with each driving both speakers @ 4 ohms. The only redeeming value is that the cab weighs 45 lbs and my old one was 77 lbs.

Great rig, beautiful tone

By daryl

Comments about Ampeg PF-500 Portaflex and PF-115HE Stack:

I just upgraded to a PF500 and and the PF210 set up from a GK 210. My GK was loud and feature-rich, but lacked the tone that I didn't even know was there. This amp is amazing, beautiful tone, great range, hassle free set up. The Portaflex cabinet is solid, sounds great and looks amazing. The casters on the bottom are nice, even though it is not that heavy. I would recommend the warranty for the head as there have been some reported issues with the fragility of the unit. The guys at GC were, as always, great. Overall, I am extremely happy with the purchase.
