MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages. Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website. The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands: Mackie: A 3-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on drivers (where applicable) apply to loudspeakers (active and passive), power amps, powered mixers, and HR studio monitors. Specific models under this warranty include all SRM, HD, SA, C and S Series Speakers, all FRS Amplifiers, all HRmk2 Studio Monitors. A 1-year, all inclusive, nontransferable warranty applies to all mixers, MR Studio Monitors, Control Surfaces, Processors (digital), MR Studio Monitors, Control Surfaces, Audio/MIDI Interfaces, other SR & Recording Products. Specific product models under this warranty include all Onyx Compact, 4-bus and 8-bus, all VLZ3, all PPM, all ProFX, all CFXmk2 Mixers, all MR Studio Monitors, Big Knob, Onyx 800R, all MCU Pro family. Comments about Ampeg PF-350 Portaflex 350W Bass Amp Head:

Bought this and the 115 cab on black Friday about 5 years ago. Never had an issue with it, love the portability. Two weeks ago went to play a bar, switched it on, and fault light wouldn't go off. No sound. Cooling fan in the back isn't running. Called GC toll-free line and they said to take it to local store for a fix. Drove 45 miles, the repair tech took one look and said "I don't work on solid state". Gave me a number for another local repair shop. Called the GC line to complain, was given the number of a repair company even further away. Told them what I had, and they said they couldn't work on it. Have sent an e-mail to Loud Technologies to ask what my options are; waiting for a response. Outlook uncertain. It shouldn't be this tough to get this thing fixed !

Nice tone but rather weak on how much it can drive speakers

By ronald rangel

Comments about Ampeg PF-350 Portaflex 350W Bass Amp Head:

The plus is this is the starting point for some Ampeg tone. Nice. It is really small and can fit in a small briefcase or backpack without taking up more than half of the room. The minus was that I compared this amp to the other amp heads in the same price range / same watts at Guitar Center on the same speaker (2x12) (G-K, Rumble, G-B, MarkBass). This one came in last for 350W (into 4) in the ability to move air. I was rather disappointed. If you really want to Ampeg done then you got it. No need to search further. If you want a clean amp that can push a bit of air and grow with you then I'd suggest trying out a few others. You can get more amp for the same price.

Excellent amp

By MAX MONAST

from columbus OH

Comments about Ampeg PF-350 Portaflex 350W Bass Amp Head:

I bought this amp 6 months ago as part of my Dr. Frankenstein amp setup to be the main distortion amp. I was really pleased with the sound, volume, and tone of the amp. It sounds great clean, and though I'm still getting around to tweaking the settings to suit my needs, it sounds dark and growling through my fuzz/distortion pedal combo. I recommend this amp for anyone looking for a good, loud amp to use for practice or small shows.

Big Bang for my Bucks

Comments about Ampeg PF-350 Portaflex 350W Bass Amp Head:

I play a deluxe P bass with an amplified acoustic blues and oldies band. We play small places, halls, outdoor parties, busking, indoor parties, and also loud gigs like garage jams, street parties and stages. I lug a heavy 200w 15" combo for loud gigs and carry a smaller Ampeg 20w 8" combo for small rooms. I wanted to have one light weight rig that does it all. I found a lightweight 12" 400w bass cab and added the Ampeg PF350 amplifier head. I've played 3 gigs in the few days I've had it, two low volume and one high. Wow, this sucker is amazing. Easily handled anything I threw at it. I'm able to quickly dial in the room. The amp pushes the 12" with amazing deep authority and it's loud. Even more cool, at low volume it can shake the walls. I like the light weight and band loves the thick tones. Very happy

Comments about Ampeg PF-350 Portaflex 350W Bass Amp Head:

I've owned this amp for some time now and always kept it with me for a backup in case my main amp failed or tubes got hot and weak. But this week I bought the PF-112HLF enclosure to carry to small acoustic gigs and pop-up jam sessions. Man was I surprised how full, warm, loud and portable this rig is. Built like a tank, and with the accessory carry bag, I am not afraid to take this anywhere with me for any kind of small to Medium Large room. My drummer ( whom I've played with for 40+ years) loves the fat tones this combo has. If not for anything else, buy one for a dependable, sturdy, tone machine to carry with you at all times, just like you would a tuner or cable. Best bang for you buck for sure and especially if you can find a used one under $200
