Ampeg GVT5

By Jack Faehl

from Vidor Texas

I recently bought one of these little Ampeg amps it has 5 watts and can really get loud. You can change it to 2.5 watts, and loose the top end volume but not the tone. I really like the tone it has with the EQ that it has you can really dial in a sweet tone. Its a heavey little amp mine came to the house damaged from shipping it is cracked on the top of the cabinet across the top. A pretty big gapping crack it must have gotten dropped but even with that kind of damage it still sounded great. I kinda hate to be sending it back but that's the way it is. The amp is not easy to find reviews on it, so I just wanted to say that this is one of the best sounding single channel amps that I have owned. It breaks ups nicely and the speaker in it can handle the 5 watts nicely. I hooked it up to a two ten cab with Ragin Cajun Patriot speakers and it was really nice, if your thinking about this amp you wont be disappointed unless your cabinet is cracked like mine, oh by the way it was not damaged by Guitar Center I always have gotten the best service from my local Guitar Center.
