MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages. Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website. The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands: Mackie: A 3-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on drivers (where applicable) apply to loudspeakers (active and passive), power amps, powered mixers, and HR studio monitors. Small enough to use as a practice amp, powerful enough to cut through the mix standing alone, easily fills your backline -- I luv this amp. I've been playing since the early seventies, this amp gives me everything I want. Tone, power, nuance, its all in this amp! Combined my old Gibson Grabber with the BA-210 -- Steve Miller and the Doobies never sounded so good! You gotta get one of these, unless you're just looking for massive.

I always read up on reviews prior to trying out and/or purchasing equipment as I don't like to be the guinea pig on new products. Based on the reviews on this page I decided to go try this unit out so I drove 2 hours to Guitar Center in Gwinnett, Ga. Plugged in several basses both active and passive, this amp has a great clear sound but you can't turn the volume past 5 or the sound will distort. I normally play through an Ampeg 8x10 cab with a GK 1001RB head so I am probably prejudice towards the awesomeness of my rig so this unit was rather disappointing. I knew it would be nothing like my 8x10 setup but I expected more than what it put out.

After jamming on this and adjusting the sound I thought I would buy it and try it ran through my bands PA hoping that this would work as a bass monitor and push the low end through the PA (wanting to downsize gear). So I bought it and drove 2 hours home and set everything up. Again the sound was clear until you put the volume past 5, sadly though this would not cut through our normal PA mix and could barely be heard.

My experience with this unit is that it would be fine for practice somewhere but would not be usable in most playing environments. Again I am used to the feel of my 8x10 setup so trying to downsize to a smaller rig may just not work for me.

I again drove 2 hours back to Guitar Center to return this and they immediately took it back no questions asked but this was within 5 hours of purchasing it.

Great Amp

Comments about Ampeg BA210V2 2x10 Bass Combo Amplifier:

I've played bass since the late 60's and this amp provides a great mix of sound options. You can mix the sound you're looking for and get the results you want. It's small and compact, yet has plenty of power. I haven't added an extension cabinet yet, but expect it to deliver on an even larger scale. I would recommend it.

What has teeth and growls? This amp!!

Comments about Ampeg BA210V2 2x10 Bass Combo Amplifier:

The Ampeg BA210V2 is light and powerful! It has the great Ampeg tone with capabilities to dial in crisp tones that cut through the mix. My drummer plays loud and has told me to turn down when I'm on "2". It's worth the extra $100 to get 350 more watts and the external speaker jack. I can't wait to hook a 15" cab up to this little beast.

Comments about Ampeg BA210V2 2x10 Bass Combo Amplifier:

just got my BA-210, sounds very good and has a lot of different sounds and good power. but when turned up loud the chassis rattles, not very helpful. had to put some shims between the chassis and the cab...that fixed the problem...I like it and keeping mine...looks good, very portable. Comments about Ampeg BA210V2 2x10 Bass Combo Amplifier:

My normal rig consists of a 77 music man hd 130 head and a ampeg 6x10 cab. I plugged in and went back and forth between the two amps until I was able to very closely replicate the tone that I have with my music man setup. The scrambler mode really allows you to get the tubed tone through a solid head, or go over board on distortion (not my sound, but some musicians prefer it) I made sure to run the Ba2-10 into the 6x10 cab and experience what it was like for a full 8x10 sound driven off the 450 watt head. I was floored, punchy, aggressive, ballsy and that Classic ampeg tone was there. My intent was to go with mark bass for the portability /weight. However, the ampeg tone and more than enough power was available at only 48 lbs, vs 44 for mark bass. This is real no brainer, and so far there has been zero let down.

I have been playing for over 20 years, and gig 3x a week. So far it's held up and exceeded expectations!

I teamed it up with a 1-15" cabinet and played it on stage for the first time since I've had it, (three weeks), and was very impressed. It had plenty of reserve power and was clear and clean. Probably won't be using my 410 cabinet much any more. Loved It!!!!!

Comments about Ampeg BA210V2 2x10 Bass Combo Amplifier:

I pick this one up and returned it the same day changed over to the TC Electronics BG250. The Ampeg rattled and cut out on me many times. For claiming it had 450 watts of power the sound output was seriously lacking, I even tried several different basses on it and that didn't help. It sounded more like 50 watts of power instead of 450w and then when I tried to push it (for the times that I won't be plugged into a pa) this disappointment started cutting out on me. I have been a musicion for over 40 years, I wanted a decent lightweight combo amp that could handle me in a 5pc group plus my 3pc group. This amp couldn't handle it.

Comments about Ampeg BA210V2 2x10 Bass Combo Amplifier:

If you are running your bass through the PA subs, you either play your amp loud enough to hear yourself and blow your band mates off stage, or you turn down for your band mates and then cannot hear yourself. So a tilt-back design is what you need. I never liked Ampeg before, but tried the newer V2 combo Series 1-15 model at GC and was so impressed I immediately ordered the BA210-V2. At only 48 lbs., and awesome tone, this solved my live stage problem. Did two gigs with it last week and finally, I was able to hear myself loud enough to feel the groove, and setting it up on the 60 degree tilt-back I did not irritate the rest of the band.

283 watts rms. stand alone, or add another cabinet to make use of the 450 watt capacity. However, I did not feel the need for another cabinet with combo. My band has the floor monitors quite loud and with this combo, backing off on the bass tone a little, and raising up the mids, I could hear myself very clearly, and feel it as well.

To solve the lack of a pre/post switch (ie. the di signal out will be affected if/when you adjust the amp volume/tone, I purchased the Ampeg SCR-DI preamp. The SCR-DI will allow you to play with the settings on your amp all you want without affecting the signal to the PA. And you can adjust the tone setting to the PA on the SCR-DI which is a vast improvement over the typical flat signal from built-in amp DI connection. The SCR-DI also is awesome for headphone practice with a volume setting for auxiliary imput (the combo has this feature also) which takes up very little room for at home practice.

Comments about Ampeg BA210V2 2x10 Bass Combo Amplifier:

This amp lives up to the Ampeg name. I could feel the power just by turning it on. It took me less than 15 minutes to dial it in. The sound was incredible. The Scrambler's really cool if your going to play some older classic rock. I probably won't use it much. Overall, the amp is very versatile. I brought it to the studio/bandroom and both of my guitarists and my drummer were stunned by the sound and power I was getting out of it. One of my guitarists loves loud, low end bass. He told me to turn down and thin it out a bit. We can get pretty loud. I had it around 4 with my basses about 3/4 up. Tons of headroom, even as a stand alone. I can't imagine what it would sound like with another 2 10's hooked up to it, which is another great feature. Not even sure if I'll ever need it.

Comments about Ampeg BA210V2 2x10 Bass Combo Amplifier:

I have been playing the bass for over 20 years now as a hobby. I am not a professional musician. I bought this amp because I had sold my GK amp during a move and the reviews for this appeared to be honest and good. I can honestly say this sounds much better to me than the GK did (same size). I have a very used and slightly abused Fender Jazz bass that I bought 20 years ago and this Ampeg BA210V2 really brought old girl back to life! I very much like the sound this amp produces. It is not very heavy (to me) and it feels sturdy and well built. I think it looks nice too. This is the first Ampeg product I have ever bought and I am pleasantly surprised so far. It has lots of controls and options to produce different sound, and gives the option to add another speaker which I like. The case is a little funky with its shape, but I knew that going into the purchase. I don't really play gigs so don't need it setup at different angles, but I can see how other musicians would like this feature. All in all it produces a very nice sound, seems to have a ton of power and everything just appears to be quality components to me. I feel like my old bass is brand new again. Would recommend.

I've had 8 assorted brand amps looking for the right sound and best value in a multiple use amp. I kept going back to Ampeg. This is it if you practice, garage band, or gig for a crowd. Add a 15" cabinet if you want that extra boom and you'll have it all.

I was in the market for a more portable amp to take with me to practices (my other amp is a much larger setup with a head and multiple cabinets). This amp fit the bill perfectly. I was hoping it would fit in my trunk (I have an Infiniti Q50) but it there was no way to put it in the trunk. It probably would have fit in the back seats, but I was not willing to put it on my leather seats. I ended up taking my girlfriend's small SUV and it was easy to move in her car. The sound was fabulous. The different effects I could create using the amp, and the sheer power it had, was well worth the cost. My drummer plays loud, plain and simple, and he could easily overshadow the rest of the group. But this amp did more than just hold it's own, but it excelled.

played thru this amp at local GC and sounded great, full and fat for a 210, looking for a combo that would be easy to move with good power, thought I found it. I play in 2 bands, a country band and a full out rock band. This amp can handle the country just fine, nice tone full and fat, when kept below 1/2 volume. As for the rock band, not enough. Guitar players in my band play kinda loud, and when I turn up to there level, this amp cant keep up. I do however plan on keeping it, and find something with a little more oomph that doesn't fart out at high volume.

This Amp has a very huge sound. The tone is amazing and perfect when plugging in my "Old Smoothie". It's the perfect combination in my opinion. It will give you that growl or funky Stingray sound.
Only cons is I got mine with some buzzing sound when being use, so I'm still waiting for my replacement. I hope Ampeg do a more thorough Quality Control with their products, so that customers will have an excellent experience. If not with the technical issue, I will give the product 5 stars because it just sounds that good.

Great Amp! Really has the power to shake the Wall! I love the scrambler. Only wish I got just a little dirtier. I haven't tried a external cabinet yet, but as a combo still has plenty of power to gig with.
