Warranty
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages. Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website. The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands: Mackie: A 3-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on drivers (where applicable) apply to loudspeakers (active and passive), power amps, powered mixers, and HR studio monitors. I recently started playing the bass again after a LONG lay-off. I use to have an Ampeg back in the '70's and it was used. By the way, I know the guy who has it and it still cranks. I bought the BA115 about 2 months ago and it's a really good amp. It looks great and it's very sturdy. The tone of it is good at low or high volumes. It doesn't have the distortion channels and tuner like some of the other combo's but I could care less. I play an Ibanez BTB400 and an SRX390 through it. Each bass has it's own sound but the Ampeg handles both great. If you need an amp for home, practice, or small gigs, I recommend this amp. You get an Ampeg with great sound and power and you can't beat the price.

I bought this on the reviews mostly, but it sounded pretty good in the store. This thing has a constant "hiss" that is very annoying - on line research says this is normal for Ampeg. Four days later I exchanged it for another brand. Nothing else in the stores "hiss" like this. It was not very sensitive or versatile as it seemed it should be - it's just an amp and seems low on the output for a 100 amp combo. First and last Ampeg, although I hear the tube amps are the bomb.

Nice Big Powerful Bass Combo Amp from Ampeg

By Todd Knisley

from Canton OH

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I caught this combo amp on sale and it is more amp than I needed or expected to get. I was leaning toward a smaller unit, but after getting this home it is a workhorse. Some cool tone models onboard, with a nice tilt-back position option. Definitely enough grunt to punch through the drums. If you are looking for a light, small practice amp this is not it. I think this would be most bass players second amp. Barely over $300 on sale makes it a great choice.

Great Combo Amp

By ALLEN CURTIS

from Cola, SC

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

There are about a million reviews about this amp, so I will just adress the concerns I had before I bought it. Sounds Great, easy to use. A little heavy and bulky, but keep in mind that there is a 15" speaker in there. This amp has the Ampeg sound you are looking for. XLR Connection works great, no buzz or hiss when running thru the house, fo rthose of you that are curious. If you are looking for something with some power for practice, sounds clean, but needs a big sound for live shows, consider this one and run it thru the house. It's all you need. You can use the amp as a moniter. If I had to do it over, I would buy this instead of my half stack. I have both now and I'm not complaining, just saying. I also have the smaller 10" version of this amp. Great amp, but no XLR. Spend the money on the BA-115. It's worth it come gig time becuase of the XLR. also it does not have the hiss that some others were complaining about.

Nice Amp

By Michael Strapason

from Tulsa, OK

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I bought this amp my son who really loves playing the bass. He was so excited when he saw what it was. It is plenty big for playing in the house and sounds great. He has a Fender Squier P-bass and a Schechter 5-string. Get a shielded cable like the manual calls for. Also sounds great when he plays his Strat or Ibenez guitars. So far it has been a great purchase.

Simply Great

By Bruce Yost

from St. Charles, Missouri

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I hardly ever write reviews but these other reviews helped me a lot to make a smart decision. At the end of the day you get a great combo bass amp for a very fair price. I have been playing guitar for 20 plus years and decided to take up bass as well Did my homework and found this to be the best combo amp on the market. Very satisfied with it's performance. Plenty loud for smaller venues, 100 watts is still 100 watts.

sounds good, and thats all

By Chris DiCola

from Akron, Ohio

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

This amp has a very cool tone...in fact, there are 5 cool tones. You can switch your style from real low-key, deep sounds to high, bright, punchy ones. It only has bass, treble, and mid knobs, no EQ, so once you find a style you can't do much with it. Of course, whichever way you go, it will probably sound good. the problem is that it really isnt loud enough. I have played multiple venues with this amp, including Peabody's in Cleveland, and the bass is never loud enough! it can go directly (which is the only reason I havent already sold it) but it doesnt have the power to drive a (skapunk) band Plus, the first one I had blew a fuse during sound check at a gig. Ampeg sent another one after i tried 3 more fuses. Bottom line: dont get it unless you want to practice/record with it

It's an Ampeg, need I say more?

By John Lindsay

from Omaha, NE

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

Fantastic practice or small gig amp. When I quit gigging 10 years ago due to small children, I had 2-410 Ampegs and a SVT head. I wanted to start playing again and this Ampeg is an awesome way to start! Great price, sound and value for what you get.

Great Overall Amp.

By Colter Marple

from Missoula, MT

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

The BA115 has a great sound and gets a decent amount of volume output. It's cut out on me from time to time, but other than that it's as reliable as can be. I recommend this for beginner to intermediate players or people that don't have the neccessary funds to get a high-end amp. You can get enough sound to fill a large room and if you need more, you should already have invested in a PA system to plug into.

I got this amp to go with ...

By Andrew

from Windham, NH

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I got this amp to go with my new Schecter P Bass. It is a asic amp, giving you smooth, deep cleans, bt not much distortion. All in all, since I have a BP80 bass pedal, this is exactly what I was looking for. It does sound muddy when turned up loud, but I played it in a large auditorium on 4 volume and plugged it into the house speakers and it sounded amazing! It's nice and simple, nothing like the Line 6 I was looking at that was much more complicated. It gives me that deep, basic tone that I just love. The line out jack is very convenient, and also it has an auxilary jack, so I can play my ipod out of it! And trust me, it's LOUD :). I would definetly reccomend this to any beginner to intermediate bass player whos playing smaller gigs.

Disappointing for an Ampeg

By John

from Carol Stream IL

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I think I paid $370(+tax) for the little logo that says ampeg. Years ago I played the 50watt 12" version of this amp and I liked the tone. I got the 100watt 15" thinking that would be plenty of power for a band practice...one practice and I just returned it today. Not a screaming loud band either. I exchanged it for a Peavey Tour TNT 115. Its bigger...and heavier...which i dont like but at least three times as loud and does not distort like this one does. I didnt like the tweeter on this either, it was very tin sounding and sensitive. People seem to love it in these reviews but I just dont get it.

A review almost a year later

By The bottom line

from hamilton ohio

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

Well how about a review that consists of remarks or opinion, that reaches past the shine of newness when first brought home.I have had mine for almost a year now and it has been worked pretty hard. The sound is tight no loose speaker sound. It has dropped out of my car twice in route to practice.Got rained on doing an outside jam for a grill out. There is no buzz from tweeter as described by others although it is scuffed up a bit from the abuse. It is probably the most solid amp. I have owned. My next step up will also be an ampeg. I see what the fuss is about now its not just the name but the product...
