MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages. Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website. The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands: Mackie: A 3-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on drivers (where applicable) apply to loudspeakers (active and passive), power amps, powered mixers, and HR studio monitors. I recently started playing the bass again after a LONG lay-off. I use to have an Ampeg back in the '70's and it was used. By the way, I know the guy who has it and it still cranks. I bought the BA115 about 2 months ago and it's a really good amp. It looks great and it's very sturdy. The tone of it is good at low or high volumes. It doesn't have the distortion channels and tuner like some of the other combo's but I could care less. I play an Ibanez BTB400 and an SRX390 through it. Each bass has it's own sound but the Ampeg handles both great. If you need an amp for home, practice, or small gigs, I recommend this amp. You get an Ampeg with great sound and power and you can't beat the price.

I bought this on the reviews mostly, but it sounded pretty good in the store. This thing has a constant "hiss" that is very annoying - on line research says this is normal for Ampeg. Four days later I exchanged it for another brand. Nothing else in the stores "hiss" like this. It was not very sensitive or versatile as it seemed it should be - it's just an amp and seems low on the output for a 100 amp combo. First and last Ampeg, although I hear the tube amps are the bomb.

Pure Ampeg Sound

By Mark from Orange County

from Ca

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

Well- I just started jamming with others and really wanted to see if this little 100 watt amp would hold up against drums and guitars. Man did it ever. Did I need to crank it up? Sure, probably 3/4 volume. But, the sound was as pure as when I was playing in my house alone. No buzz, no hum, just great sound. Ampeg is coming out with a 300 series soon and I can't wait to hear that, but, this 100 watt combo is just super. MARK

Excellent Combo!

By Big Daddy

from Memphis, TN

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

This amp might be small, but it is perfect for small gigs and rehearsals. Great ampeg tone, and enough volumn to carry it's own. Probably the only amp you'll need unless you are playing large venues or arenas.

can't go wrong with ampeg

By bassmasta

from Beaverton, OR

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

Very good amp. I use this amp everyday at my school's band room. This thing packs lots of volume and lots of tone which is the exact thing I look for in an amp. It doesn't have many features, but the quality makes up for that. This amp is great for practise, recording, and possibly small gigs. If you buy this you'll be happy with your purchase.

Quite Possibly The Perfect Practice Amp

By Stick

from Undisclosed

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I just bought this amp yestersay. I had been looking at the Fender Bassman series, but when I tired this one, I felt the tone was superior to the Fender's. I would recommend this to any serious basment gigger or anyone looking for a sweet practice amp.

Sweetly Simplistic

By MrBass77

from Bowmanstown, PA

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I feel like I've sinned in the past after buying this baby. I've tried two other not so petite combos before this one, and the Ampeg BA115 has schooled the competition. Granted my VOX really has good tone for a 50 year old double vintage amp, the BA115 absolutely destroys the Fender Rumble I used to own. Here's the kicker! It's cheap as dirt! I feel like the guitar center paid ME to buy it! Value is top of the line, Sound quality is too good to be true, but I do wish that the BA115 would have a little more equalization possibilities. All in all, Ampeg BA115 is worth more than what I paid for it. Seems like it knows what artist I wanna imitate when I play cover songs!

Good Beginner

By William

from California

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

This was my very first amp that I received and the manufacturing quality is top notch. Even with only 100W you will be able to hear it loud but not always clearly as it seems to produce a muddy disorganized sound when really cranked up. That is why I highly recommend a DI box of some kind to make your signal clean(sansamp DI box for example)!!! The EQ is OK and it is a bummer there are is no gain at all(DI BOX WILL FIX THAT). There is 1 HUGE problem with this amp. When I turn it on and it is warming up with my bass plugged in it produces a high pitch frequency sound(and no it is not because my treble is turned really high up). But after you start playing the noise disappears and everything is GOOD!!. Do i recommend this as a first amp? YES. As a second. NO!!! There are so many other amps out there that one will want once they have become better bass players. But the BA-115 is a good amp with good pricing so where can you go wrong?

Wonderful for Practice

By Colin Webb

from Warner Robins, GA

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I bought this amp along with my Ibanez SR700 after falling in love with the buttery tone in the store. The combination is fantastic for practice alone; the tone is smooth and buttery with mild EQ settings, and allows for a very wide range of sounds, from a Beatles punch to a funky twang to a jazz hum, all the way to a metal growl. Unfortunately, if you like a smooth tone you have to keep the EQ and volume at a very mild level, and it gets muddy if you try to bring the volume up on a clean tone. If you want a loud metal growl this is fine, but trying to keep that elusive delicious clean tone in a band you need something with more power and clarity.

Great Bass Amp

By Electric Bill Pylon

from Pearl City, IN

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

This amp does it all, blues, pop, punk, classic rock, rockabilly, whatever you want, this amp can do. Between the EQ and the style selector, you have endless possibilties. I've been known to use a Jay Turser Beatle Bass, Fender P bass with this thing, I've even been known to plug my guitars, a 335, a Tele, and a Teisco through it for home recordings. Never had the buzz problem, and I've had this thing for a few years now. It's plenty loud to play any venue from 30 to 2,000 people audience. I love this amp.

It just wont DIE !!!

By Chunky G (licious)

from DFW Texas

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I and a couple of other idiots, got really caught up in the momment and ended up max'ing out our amps... That's alot of fun (until someone gets hurt)! My Ampeg died. Yep, flatlined. I could get no sound at all, needless to say this was a serious buzzkill. I slipped into a depresion for the rest of the night, like I'd killed my best friend. The next day, I got a call from 'ground zero'(our rehearsal hall) and was told my precious Ampeg was ALIVE!!! Something just short of DEVINE INTERVENTION, I thought. Nay, turns out the good folks at AMPEG had the forsight to build a self protection device into my amp!!! I trully am not worthy of such amazing engineering.. I am humbled...

Great sounding amp but NOISEY!!!

By Bryan B.

from Livonia, MI

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I was looking for a small tilt back practice amp that was easy to move around the house and up the stairs. I purchased this larger amp after falling in love with it's sound in the showroom, but after setting it up in my family room at home, I found that it had one major flaw that would have driven me crazy for my application. The horn accentuates this amp's continuous white noise hiss! This hiss is constant regardless of the volume, gain, or EQ settings. While this might be masked in a live band, it would have been unacceptable for a quiet practice or recording environment. It is also heavy and awkward to carry and has a tendency to tip back even if not desired on soft carpeting. The sound is one of the best I've heard, but ultimately I had to return it because of the hiss.

jammin amp

By mason

from Sparks, Nevada

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I just bought this amp and it's super sick. My first amp was really lame though, so anything is an improvement. Anyhow, i compared it to basically every amp in my price range, and found it to be the best. I love the simplicity of the controls. They offer may tones, and any bassist can make very small, necassary adjustments. Highly reccomend.

A very nice amp

By Ron, O'Bannon Sr.

from Carson, Calif.

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I just recently purchase BA-115 Ampeg amp. I play a lot of Motown and i needed that Motown sound, i did a lot of looking for that right sound and when i played (My Girl) on that Ampeg Amp i said that's it. So when i'm doing my little gigs or just practicing i know i got the right sound. Looking to step-up to my next Ampeg Amp real soon.

Noisy Tweeter completely ruins this one

By Stephen

from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

If Ampeg put a better tweeter in this it would be at 4 stars. Unfortunately this thing has HAND DOWN the WORST tweeter I have every heard. It is incredibly noisy, producing more hiss than tone. Avoid.

Great Combo Amp

By ALLEN CURTIS

from Cola, SC

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

There are about a million reviews about this amp, so I will just adress the concerns I had before I bought it. Sounds Great, easy to use. A little heavy and bulky, but keep in mind that there is a 15" speaker in there. This amp has the Ampeg sound you are looking for. XLR Connection works great, no buzz or hiss when running thru the house, fo rthose of you that are curious. If you are looking for something with some power for practice, sounds clean, but needs a big sound for live shows, consider this one and run it thru the house. It's all you need. You can use the amp as a moniter. If I had to do it over, I would buy this instead of my half stack. I have both now and I'm not complaining, just saying. I also have the smaller 10" version of this amp. Great amp, but no XLR. Spend the money on the BA-115. It's worth it come gig time becuase of the XLR. also it does not have the hiss that some others were complaining about.

Lasts Forever

By shortydude93

from Phoenix AZ

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

This amp is the best. I've played on it for at least a year. My friend owned it and let me borrow it until I could buy my own. When I finally did buy my own it came with a hugh crack on the right corner. I thought this might have and effect on the sound. Yeah right! It sounded the same I couldn't believe it. I would suggest this to any one looking at this amp for being in a band or just for showing it off.
