Warranty
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages. Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website. The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands: Mackie: A 3-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on drivers (where applicable) apply to loudspeakers (active and passive), power amps, powered mixers, and HR studio monitors. I recently started playing the bass again after a LONG lay-off. I use to have an Ampeg back in the '70's and it was used. By the way, I know the guy who has it and it still cranks. I bought the BA115 about 2 months ago and it's a really good amp. It looks great and it's very sturdy. The tone of it is good at low or high volumes. It doesn't have the distortion channels and tuner like some of the other combo's but I could care less. I play an Ibanez BTB400 and an SRX390 through it. Each bass has it's own sound but the Ampeg handles both great. If you need an amp for home, practice, or small gigs, I recommend this amp. You get an Ampeg with great sound and power and you can't beat the price.

I bought this on the reviews mostly, but it sounded pretty good in the store. This thing has a constant "hiss" that is very annoying - on line research says this is normal for Ampeg. Four days later I exchanged it for another brand. Nothing else in the stores "hiss" like this. It was not very sensitive or versatile as it seemed it should be - it's just an amp and seems low on the output for a 100 amp combo. First and last Ampeg, although I hear the tube amps are the bomb.

Low Quality Amplifier and Poor Warranty

By Timbassist

from Oakland, CA

About Me Experienced

Pros

  • Easy To Use

Cons

  • Poor Sound Quality
  • Weak

Best Uses

  • Buzzing Amplifier Party

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

The speaker began buzzing soon after I received it. I have called customer support, and my options for warranty means driving an hour away, dropping the amplifier off, then waiting 2-3 weeks for it to be returned (it may take longer). I would recommend spending more money on a locally purchased amplifier.

Nice Big Powerful Bass Combo Amp from Ampeg

By Todd Knisley

from Canton OH

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I caught this combo amp on sale and it is more amp than I needed or expected to get. I was leaning toward a smaller unit, but after getting this home it is a workhorse. Some cool tone models onboard, with a nice tilt-back position option. Definitely enough grunt to punch through the drums. If you are looking for a light, small practice amp this is not it. I think this would be most bass players second amp. Barely over $300 on sale makes it a great choice.

Makes lots of noise

By Bolend

About Me Professional Musician

Pros

  • Good Overall Tone

Cons

  • Direct Output Noisy
  • Not Very Loud At All

Best Uses

  • Practice only

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

Amp made an awful humming noise when using the xlr out.
Was not even loud enough to rehearse with the full band, even using electronic drums and turning them down.
Thought Ampeg was the best, going to try a peavey this go around.

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

Ive had one of these beautz for about 5 years now. Being a Metal and hard rock guy; Its taken a beating [falling out of trucks, down staircases] and its still in great shape. The passive jack is a little bit muffeled [great for practice] and the active jack is LOUD! It can get "hissy" at very low volumes, but when youre playing anything past 2 on the dial it levels out. My drummer plays through a PA, and at practice and its droned him out on more than one occasion. Great "Bang for the Buck". Its sturdy & Loud; the only gripe is the weight, a bit heavy, but beer heals all wounds...

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I received this amp as a gift and it by far beats out my other amp any day. It captures both the high ends and low ends on my bass guitars and the dual jacks allow for me to use both my passive and active basses. This amp is small enough to go to little band practice sessions but is powerful enough to do any small to mid sized venue. I couldn't recommend this amp enough, whether you are an amateur player to the more experienced performers.

    Great Combo Amp

    By ALLEN CURTIS

    from Cola, SC

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

There are about a million reviews about this amp, so I will just adress the concerns I had before I bought it. Sounds Great, easy to use. A little heavy and bulky, but keep in mind that there is a 15" speaker in there. This amp has the Ampeg sound you are looking for. XLR Connection works great, no buzz or hiss when running thru the house, fo rthose of you that are curious. If you are looking for something with some power for practice, sounds clean, but needs a big sound for live shows, consider this one and run it thru the house. It's all you need. You can use the amp as a moniter. If I had to do it over, I would buy this instead of my half stack. I have both now and I'm not complaining, just saying. I also have the smaller 10" version of this amp. Great amp, but no XLR. Spend the money on the BA-115. It's worth it come gig time becuase of the XLR. also it does not have the hiss that some others were complaining about.

    Nice Amp

    By Michael Strapason

    from Tulsa, OK

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I bought this amp my son who really loves playing the bass. He was so excited when he saw what it was. It is plenty big for playing in the house and sounds great. He has a Fender Squier P-bass and a Schechter 5-string. Get a shielded cable like the manual calls for. Also sounds great when he plays his Strat or Ibenez guitars. So far it has been a great purchase.

    Simply Great

    By Bruce Yost

    from St. Charles, Missouri

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

I hardly ever write reviews but these other reviews helped me a lot to make a smart decision. At the end of the day you get a great combo bass amp for a very fair price. I have been playing guitar for 20 plus years and decided to take up bass as well Did my homework and found this to be the best combo amp on the market. Very satisfied with it's performance. Plenty loud for smaller venues, 100 watts is still 100 watts.

Comments about Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo:

So this was a Condition 2 used amp. When I plugged my J bass in the sound was distorted. As a long time player, I knew that the speaker was blown. The outside of the amp was clean and seemed to be virtually new. But..it just was not working. Called MF...as usual these folks were great. No muss, no fuss. They sent me a return shipping label and all was quickly taken care of. Talked with a rep and he suggested an alternate amp (Ampeg); which I ordered. He took his time and was very helpful. Buying online can be a hassle and a gamble, but I never find there are any issues with MF. They got my biz.

Great thump from a name brand amp company for a pretty decent price. Hard to find another 1x15 combo for even close to this. Smallest bass amp I would buy for home practice.
