Warranty
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages. Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website. The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands: Mackie: A 3-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on drivers (where applicable) apply to loudspeakers (active and passive), power amps, powered mixers, and HR studio monitors. I have been playing bass professionally for over 20 years and this amp is truly a "Little Giant". I wish they had amps of this size and great tone quality when I was starting on bass. I bought this rig used a couple of years ago to use in smaller venues, but I found myself using this rig more than my bigger rig. The variety of tones and sounds come through loud and clear. It's a great rig for practice, studio work or performances. I use my bigger rig if I need the power, but these days I find myself using the direct out on the BA112 to go through the PA system. However if you can't go through the PA system for whatever reason you will need a bigger rig if you are in a big venue or working with a loud band. This amp is great for jazz combos, big bands, christian rock and most R&B, rock and pop gigs. If you play professionally this shouldn't be the only amp you have, but it should be in your arsenal if you don't like dragging a boat to every gig you have. I recommend that you go to your nearest Guitar Center and take it for a test drive.

I have owned this amp for about 3 years. I did not use it that much early on, but for the last 2 years have been using it once a week in small church (and at lower volume settings). Amp worked great and sounded great. However, today the transformer fried and that pretty much brought an end to it. I have been playing various guitars for 40 years. With the limited playing time this one received, I would have expected it to last many more years. Before today, I would have given it 5 stars; but since it didn't hold up for at least 5 years I felt it did not warrant it.

Powerful!!!!!!!

Comments about Ampeg BA112 50W Single 12 Bass Combo:

I live this amp. The sound is amazing. I play a Peavey AC BXP 5 string and this thing picks up the low end way better than my old rumble did. I love the 5 eq setting. I use the 5th position for most rock songs, but if I want to play some softer classic rock I switch it to position 2. I just can't get how amazing this amp sounds!!!!!

Great Practice Amp

By Karl Orbeta

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Ampeg BA112 50W Single 12 Bass Combo:

This is a great practice amp and not a bad thing to have for casual jams that don't require volume. So far, I haven't had the issues that previous reviewers have mentioned. I purchased this amp because I wanted something small that I could take outside and have a little fun. I own other larger more powerful amps, but this is perfect for what I intended. I love the Style Knob, it does a fairly good job of shaping your tone. My favorite setting is Style #1 and #2, really dig the fat tone on that. However, it can vary in volume output. The input jack for active Basses is really not necessary and actually lowers the overall volume. When you play this, you definitely will know that you're playing through an Ampeg. I have looped in my effect pedals into the amp and didn't experience any conflict between them as can happen sometimes. I gave this a four stars because for 50 watts of power, it should be a little louder for the price you are paying. One thing I believe can improve this amp to justify its price is adding compression and a mid-scoop cut for slap. But overall, this is a great amp, especially for begginers, people on a budget or just need something for the novelty of it. :)

Thus far, the BA112 has been a great practice and small venue amp in an acoustic setting. It does exactly what is required of it.

One Word, Amazing

By Corey Schultz

from Chapel Hill, TN

Comments about Ampeg BA112 50W Single 12 Bass Combo:

I was looking for a bass and amp online and i finally had enough money to get the Allan Woody rumblekat bass and i wanted a good amp to go with it. so i first got a behringer and after about an hour of playing it, i knew i wanted something else, after looking online i saw this one and i had to have it and i am glad i did, the 60s ampeg tone compliments the Allan Woody bass so much that i wouldn't trade it for anything expect another ampeg. thanks and peace

great amp. very impressed. plenty of EQ control and headroom for what I use it for - practice, in the studio, small gigs. I even use it for a keyboard amp in the studio and the range is great. love the ability to kick it back on the angle and use it for a monitor. yeah. I love it. great choice.

Great Amp!

By Frank

from Northern Virginia

Comments about Ampeg BA112 50W Single 12 Bass Combo:

If great tone is what you want, look no further. Deep, thick sound and plenty powerful for home or small group jamming. You'd never know this is only a 50w amp. Sold off my Rumble 100 for this baby and haven't looked back.
