The SVT-6PRO features a total of 6 tubes in the preamp and driver stages for tone shaping. The 4-band semi-parametric EQ section offers ±18dB of adjustment per band selection for fine-tuning critical frequencies. The power section delivers 1,100W @ 4 ohms. It also features onboard compression at the input stage and a tube voltage control to adjust the response of the power amp driver tubes.
I up graded to this awesome amp from a b2re. The body and depth that it delivers is unmistakebly Ampeg quality. So many tonal option are tucked away in this unit. I love the proccess of discovering new tones with this and my 610hlf. Without a doubt- "a tower of power". Keep in mind when getting a flight case for the 6pro that you get one that can handle the 18" depth. I messed up and got a 14" case and the 6pro's arse was hanging out the back. Easy fix. Now with a furman power conditioner and the ATA the rig is complete. I would replace immediately with same thing if stolen. Highly recommended for any style. It will deliver.

While stepping up in my career, I needed a bass amplifier that would be able to keep up with me in all the aspects of a professional musician. The SVT6-PRO is worthy of such a task. The instant I plugged my Stingray HH into the SVT6 I was amazed, even without tweaking any EQ or Compression. The powerful sound that was delievered had such a beautiful characteristic in its tone that no other head can reproduce. This head has the ultimate bass tone that I have been looking for: a warm, round sound that its distinctive in its attack and overdrive. Upon tweaking around, I found the Compression knob to be pretty transparent and still held the tone of my Stingray. I fell in love with the fact that the EQ section is Semi-parametric, with a hint of Full parametric ability. Each frequency band has a small Q starting out and widens as you turn the band clockwise to higher frequencies. The Tube Voltage knob tastefully adds a warm distortion to the perfected sound. On stage, there is no need to run through the house. There is so much power at one's fingertips that you would probably break a noise ordiance rule. Off stage, the head has a Direct Out that sounds great both Pre and Post EQ. Overall, there are so many features on this head that make it a must have for all bass players in all genres of music.
