Ampeg's GVT52-112 guitar combo is powerful, with a huge range of tones from clean with reverb to tube-soaked gain with attitude. On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages. Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website. The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands: Mackie: A 3-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on drivers (where applicable) apply to loudspeakers (active and passive), power amps, powered mixers, and HR studio monitors. Specific models under this warranty include all SRM, HD, SA, C and S Series Speakers, all FRS Amplifiers, all HRmk2 Studio Monitors. A 1-year, all inclusive, nontransferable warranty applies to all mixers, MR Studio Monitors, Control Surfaces, Processors (digital), MR Studio Monitors, Control Surfaces, Audio/MIDI Interfaces, other SR & Recording Products. Specific product models under this warranty include all Onyx Compact, 4-bus and 8-bus, all VLZ3, all PPM, all ProFX, all CFXmk2 Mixers, all MR Studio Monitors, Big Knob, Onyx 800R, all MCU Pro family. Tapco: A 1-year, all inclusive, nontransferable warranty applies to all products and all models. Crate: A 1-year, nontransferable warranty applies to electronics and speakers on all models of MI amps, cabinets, and combos. 90-day warranty on all tubes Blackheart: A 1-year, nontransferable warranty applies to electronics and speakers on all models of MI amps, cabinets, and combos. 90-day warranty on tubes. Ampeg: A 5-year, nontransferable warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable warranty on speakers apply to all SVT Classic and Pro Series, MI amps and cabinets. A 2-year, nontransferable warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable warranty on speakers apply to all B Series, all Diamond Blue, and all BA combo amps. 90-day warranty on tubes.

I own an older Ampeg the twin reverb made back in the 60's and other then the weight of this it is a great amp and has always been a great amp. So when Ampeg came out with the GVT52-112 combo I was excited. The first amp I bought the spring reverb would not work but that is why I bought it through Guitar Center I brought it back to them and they got me a new one. This amp does have the tone you crave for I am a tone freak and having the total control over the sound is awesome to me. It is great for the small gigs I have done and I use the full power in all of them. I play a wide variety of music anything from old standards like Blue Moon, Spanish Eyes to Rock and Roll, Country and the Blues and this amp handles it all. You need a very clean sound for the old standards and channel one does a great job even when I hit the boost for the leads it stays very clean just boosting the volume. You want Country with a twang this amp can do this as well then you want to get into Rock and Roll turn up the gain on channel one and you get the light distortion you are looking for. You want more then click on Chanel two and watch out you will get great distortion and hit the boost for those wild leads. For the blues you want lots of Sustain and with a little adjustment you will have the sustain you are craving for. The amp is a little heavy but well worth the weight on the sound you are looking for. I have played my Gibson Les Paul, Fender Strat and Epiphone Reviera through this amp and have not been disappointed with it at all. I also can use my Digitech RP500 Pedal with this amp and even get the tones I desire. I would suggest anyone looking for control over there sound and does not mind doing a little adjustment to buy this amp it is totally awesome and you won?t be disappointed.
I waited eagerly when Ampeg announced the throwback guitar amp line and I was not disappointed. This amp is all tone. Brilliant highs and incredible low end. Crisp, clear clean channel and and a rugged growl on channel 2. Reverb is even better than on old original Ampegs. The amp is highly adjustable sound wise with the gain control and the tone controls are very precise and give a lot of flexibility. The half power is nice but I use it almost exclusively on full. The boost feature is a bonus no doubt. If it is as rugged on the road as its predecessors, then the Ampeg company has done what it set out to do by getting back into the guitar amp business!
