I bought this because my new UREI mixer doesn't have an on/off switch and I didn't like the idea of un-plugging it to turn it off so I decided this was a good investment. I already have a Furman Power Conditioner so I didn't need this as a power strip but I like the switches so I don't have to jump around my whole setup to turn off the power on my gear. And it's not just for lights, works with all of your gear and it's priced right for what it is. So if you need a rack mounted power strip but not worried about needing a conditioner, grab this, you'll like it!

Grade A Power Supply

By Nathan

from CA

If you are a traveling DJ you need to get one of this power supplies, American DJ has never let me down and I know they will not with this. However even if it burned out if you purchase the 2 year warranty you are covered for 2 year! It has 8 slots and they are all powered on by the switches so if you have no need for specific ones just shut them off. I would say do yourself a favor and buy this.

Perfect

By Eric Hernandez

from avon ohio

For the price you can not go wrong with this. I bought this today for my home recording studio to power on my monitors, keyboard and computer and its just a flick of a button. It fills the missing space on my rack too so now everything just looks complete.

Only For The Electronic Hobbyst

By carl wittig

from Gloucester NJ

Looks functionally good. Worked Ok but running my first job with it, I thought I blew out a brand new amplifier. Turned out the socket I plugged my amp into had a problem and now I understand why one of the previous reviewer had a fire with his. After I got home from that first gig, I took the unit apart. Inside there are 16 jumper wires leading from the switches to the outlets, each with 1 terminal crimped onto each end (32 in all) My first surprise, was that on the now dead outlet, the crimp ONLY TOUCHED 1 strand Of the multi stranded wire, and that strand had burned thru. To my further surprise out of the 32 crimped on connectors, only 1 was properly crimped! I will buy another, believe it or not, but only because I am an electronic hobbyist and know how to fix such things, and there is nothing around in this price range for what it does, BUT I consider this unit more of a collection of readymade parts, and NOT an actual working product. I can only recommend this to those who own a soldering iron and know how to use it. Others should just stay away.

Its was ok, but not amazing.

By DJ Dave

from Millville, NJ

It worked for powering my rack, like the amp, CD player, etc. But as for my lights, it would not do unless i ran seperate extension cords to the lights on my truss. It worked for 2 weeks and then caught fire inside. I dont know why, but it was very dissappointing. I was not too satisfied.

Great Buy

By Zach

I attached this to the desk in my studio and I use it to turn on anything from lights to a keyboard to a fountain in the corner of my room. I have not had any problems with it i would encourage it greatly.

Couldn't Be Happier

By Andrew D.

from Wisconsin, USA

I've been looking for a power strip with individual switches for a long time; I stumbled across this through a friend's blog post. I ordered this power center and couldn't be happier. It has very strong switches and a thick, shielded cord to block interference. A very good quality product; I'm extremely happy with it.

Simple, Effective, Reliable and At a Low Price

By Michael Trevino

from Salem, OR

For about a year, I have rented this unit from a local pro stage and lighting company (it had been used hundreds of times and still worked great), and I finally saved up enough to buy my lighting truss and lights. The PC-100A works great for making sure your lights stay on their duty cycles. I do school dances, weddings and small out door concerts and it works great for what I need. Would not recommend if you want to run a premium light show, however.

This is alright if you aren't running DMX and you are on a budget. This will effectively turn off your lights for their duty cycle and you can turn on others at the flip of a switch. What more features do you need?
