Not bad for the price

By Bryan Witzke

from Boise Idaho

Given this is a hardware/software package the price is pretty good. I plugged the dongle in, installed the software, ran the DMX3 cable and and I was controlling every aspect of my lights. Just locate the profile for your light either in the 2000 included profiles or from the website, drag it to the first channel that you want to use and you are up and running immediately. This in't the best software out there. You can pay hundreds of dollars more for something that will run a major production, but this can take you quite a ways there. This is more like DJ or small productions than Pink Floyd Pulse tour - though I have seen a demo showing this package emulating the Pulse tour. One thing that I just learned is that version 2 is on it's way, but when it comes out it is a hardware software package - not just a software upgrade. I suspect it will be like buying the entire package again and probably at a higher price. Get this version while you can. I thnk that you can download the demo version for free to see its programming capabilites before purchasing the hardware.

Easy set up and fun to use

By Toxic Dragons Custom Lighting

from Oklahoma City

I'm new to DMX controllers and picked this up at the recommendation of the DJ expert at Guitar Center. Once I got it set up I was amazed at how easy it was to operate the basics. I'm running two Octopod 80s and the drag and drop profiles that are built in are so helpful. It even tells you the dip switch settings for each unit if needed. And before you think you can only operate one slider at a time with the mouse you can CTRL+click to select multiple and slide all at once. Awesome product!

EXCELLENT!

By Austin

from Amarillo

I am a lighting designer/production man for a pretty heavy christian band and i spent months saving for this product and it was worth it! If you wanna have a crazy light show that you can literally build and watch before you even plug in the lights then this is it! What I recommend is getting a video card so you can have one monitor with the stage and lights going while the other you set everything! This is worth the money!

Not Worth the Money

By LightingTech

from TX

This is really overpriced. Software is not user freindly at all. Does have many features in it. Much better off going with the Chauvet ShowXpress or just spending the extra 300 bucks for the Elation Compulive. Or saving yourself 150 bucks and getting the DMX operator.
