The 3-1/3' American DJ Mega Tri Bar LED boasts eighteen 3W, 3-in-1 tri-color LEDs rated at 60,000 hours. Instead of each LED lamp being a single color, tri-color technology makes it possible for each lens to contain a combination of 3 single watt LEDs in red, green, and blue. This advanced, 3-color innovation gives users tremendous advantages over single-color LEDs, including improved RGB color mixing, the elimination of multi-color shadows, and a much brighter, more even field.
The Mega Tri Bar wash light also offers a variety of professional features found on much more expensive LED bars. There are 7 DMX work modes, flicker-free operation for television and video, built-in programs and color macros, plus strobe function and electronic dimming. The Mega Tri Bar can operate in DMX mode with a controller, in master/slave mode, sound active mode, and stand alone mode (you can also use the built-in digital display to operate each unit without a controller). The unit is multi-voltage (90-240V, 50/60Hz), draws a maximum of 80W, produces a 40-degree beam angle, and has in/out DMX and AC so that users can daisy-chain the power and the DMX connection.

Comments about American DJ Mega Tri Bar LED Wash Bar:
I haven't had these fixtures long enough to speak to their durability but my first impression is they seem to be solid. We used 7 of them to light up 4x8 sheets of semi-transperant plexiglass panels from behind. The first challenge we faced was each fixture really doesn't spread more then the length of the fixture (about 4ft) so we needed to buy more to cover all the panels. Then I had difficulty getting the fixture to evenly light the whole panel without a hot spot at the bottom (where the fixture was located). We ended up placing white corrugated plastic sheets behind the plexiglass panels and focused the fixtures on the corrugated plastic to diffuse the light. Bam! completely even lighting top to bottom. This only worked because we were backlighting. If I need to use them as a cyc type light to light up a wall you will struggle with eliminating hot spots. One last observation, each LED element has three LED's inside to produce your color. This doesn't work well for generating white (or colors close to white) as the internal LED's are offset from one LED element to the next and you end up with splotchy red and green areas. If the fixture had a white LED added to the RGB configuration it would solve this problem. But, then it would cost more. Overall, it is a good fixture to have in the "toolbox" but it has some limitations that are good to understand.
