Excellent high energy effect that can be set at a faster speed for fast music or set at a slower speed for slow dances. Much better effect than a mirror ball due toallover coverage of lights in a room. Should be centrally located for maximum effect. For you DJ's you will get a continuous blast of light as the balls spin. It is definitely omni-directional. Unit gets very hot very fast but seems to hold up for long periods of time. I got mine yesterday and my kids had it on for over five strait hours dancing like crazy. It has four speed settings, it does NOT have a sound activated setting (it doesn't need it!), it goes clock or counter-clockwise but it does not have an on and off switch. You have to unplug or kill the power to the unit to turn it off. Overall an awesome unit that I feel was worth the money.
It worked fantastic the first night I used it. Ran it not stop, the only time it was off it when we took a break. The next day went to use it again light bulb was burned out. I had to drive 75 miles to get a bulb for it. It runs great now.
I purchased this light an finally got to use it at one of my gigs. This deal lights up the whole room with beams on the walls, ceiling, floor, and even the air when I hit my fogger. Even the few times when they decided to turn on the lights for whatever reason, this lil dude was still projecting images everywhere. When they turned out the lights the kids went CRAZY!! Yep, they were high school kids and even some of the parents enjoyed the effect. The only thing I don't like about the light is it get sooo hot, like any other lighting effect, but I turned mine off periodically because I didn't have any spare bulbs. Overall, this was a great investment.
