First the Positive Extends to almost 12 feet and remains fairly stable at full height, also light weight. The Negitive. Although it is light weight the tubing seems very thin, my main concern is with the plastic collars they are CHEAP and wouldn't take much to over tighten or break them. As far as collapsable and easy to transport I disagree,. If you use this stand at different venues putting it together and taking it apart I can't see this lasting long. As a permanent stand it should be fine. One last thing, it says it is rated for 150lbs I wouldn't put anything close to that on this stand.
Absolute Junk, I bought 2 of these and the first time I used them the plastic collars split open. The part of the collar that the bolts screw into needs to be changed. Hopefully I can return them to guitar center. Having a low price and low weight is great, but if the product fails on the first gig it is not a bargain. Charge us a little more and do it right. When you put $2,000.00 worth of lights on each arm you need it to be dependable. I've bought thousands of dollars worth of gear from GC and this is the worst product yet.
