Although vinyl is still a viable medium for DJs, technology is making it easier and more efficient to use MP3s. With a laptop full of MP3s, there is no more need for dragging around crates full of heavy records. To help you catch up with the times, American Audio has developed the TT-Record Turntable MP3 Recorder. Simply plug in your USB memory stick into the designated port, hit the start button, and begin recording. The belt-driven 330mm diameter phono platter is made of a sturdy die-cast aluminum and operates at 33-1/3 or 45 rpm. With the American Audio TT-Record Turntable, you can turn all your old-school singles (using the included 45 rpm adapter), 12" remixes, and full albums into electronic files that can later be used in the club or for making personalized mix CDs.

Just what I was looking for

By Brian

from Amarillo, Texas

Comments about American Audio TT-Record MP3 USB Turntable:

I am delighted with this turntable. I have wanted to digitize most of the 800 LP's that I own, but have been frustrated by the slow process of using my digital workstation. This turntable makes it a piece of cake. The sound quality and volume of the MP3 is as good as can be expected. My only complaint is that the manufacturer provides a 1G Sansdisk card with a USB adaptor that did not function. However, any standard USB memory stick works well. I am having a ball listening to albums that I have not heard in many years.

Excellent design - well built - just works

By Rick

Comments about American Audio TT-Record MP3 USB Turntable:

The TT Record is one of those products that seeks to be a solution to a problem rather than everything to everybody. It's really quite an inspired piece. For it's price and weight, it's built very well. It's easy to use and it works well. The included Japanese cartridge is darned impressive for a "throw-in" feature. The TT Record is not perfect. My biggest gripe is the delay between record button press and start of recording, some 5-10 seconds. LP tracks cannot be split by quickly toggling the record button - a big disappointment. Another bother is that the slip mat is not slippery enough, but this is easily fixed. Lastly, a front facing headphone jack would be a big help. The TT's record quality at 256Kb is excellent, but I wish American offered 320Kb firmware or the option of recording to an uncompressed format (WAV or FLAC). Overall, I give the TT Record 4 out of 5. If you want to rip LPs with minimum fuss and are will to put some time in at the computer, the TT Record is great solution.

Comments about American Audio TT-Record MP3 USB Turntable:

I'm loving every minute with my new turntable! I have been hauling my record collection around in orange crates for years-now I can store my 45's and priceless LP's away in a safe place after I transfer them onto my computer and MP3!
