I previously owned a pair of Sony MDRV-500's. I had them for five years until a swivel broke. Earlier In March, I purchased new headphones, this time, the American Audio HP700. I liked them a lot initially, but since then have had to replace them twice. The wiring is bad, and is one the most frustratin products I have ever owned. When you have headphones you expect them to work, not give out on you at any time for any unknown reason. Terrible product. Do not buy.

The sound quality is great but unfortunately the durabilty is horrible. The logo on the ear buds faded in less than a week and they broke in about 2 months. I own a pair of cheap sony head phones that are way more durable than these headphones. American audio must lower their standards and drop the price to about $30.00 just because the sound quality is great. The only value they have is the sound quality.
I bought these American Audio HP700 From my local Guitar Center, Right out of the box i was impressed. It came with a storage bag and right angle and straight 1/4 adaptor. Hooked them up to my Numark X9 mixer and the sound is like wow. Crystal clear highs bass pounding lows. I have been a DJ for over 20 years and had bought the most expensive headphones on the market and These American Audio Hp700's are the best. Would recomend this to any Pro DJ or beginner.
These were my first pair of DJ headphones and they finally broke on me after 3 months shy of 3 years. First of all, the most annoying thing about these headphones is the ear cushioning starts rubbing off right away. My buddy and I got it all over our face while mixing one night. Second, they are not that comfortable, but they do the job no less. They lasted almost 3 years for a bedroom dj that barely is getting started at spinning at parties. Sure the cushioning is almost gone, the name on the sides are gone, but they lasted for a long while without heavy use. The sounds are okay but not the best. They are good starter headphones, but don't believe they would last with heavy use.
I bought these mid December. After 2 months plastic on headband cracked... I sent back to AA and received a new pair. It's mid March now... Sending back again. At a gig Saturday night left side stopped working. I guess the only positive thing I have to say is there were no questions because it's within the 1year warranty. $59 AA HP700 $10 Return Shipping for replacement $10 Return Shiiping 2nd replacement
I use these headphones daily for regular use and for my studio at home. For the price you will not find any other headphone that give you a better quality and powerful sound. I was surpised by the sound quality once I put them on they are almost as good as my beats by dre studio headphones.
These are junk... 1st gig I did with them a piece fell off the inside. Then the left speaker blew a few weeks later and I didn't have them at near the volume I am used to. I guess they would be good headphones for listening to your iPod, but DO NOT USE THESE FOR anything else. At least they warrantied me out so I could sell them and get something better.
I recently bought this product and I'm very satisfied. The quality is not like a higher end item but it sounds PRETTY GOOD and has a VERY defined bass sound, High and Mids are OK. If you are starting on the DJ business or just want something cheap that is worth the money, then don't hesitate and buy this one.
i just got these cause the (sucky) headphones i had before broke. right out of the box, i was impressed with the bag, and right angle 1/4 in adapter. when i put them on though, they were as comfortable as i was hoping. they don't really hug ur head. if you listen to dubstep, they may shake off if you're headbanging. however, dubstep listeners will notice the great lows. this thing really does go down to 5 hz. and well. certainly a good buy. it sounds great, but feels cheap
These headphones have fantastic sound, you will not be disappointed. They are absolutely comfortable as well. I really only had one complaint. I'm not excessively rough with my equipment or anything and I need to say that first. Just from putting these headphones in and taking them out of there carrying case the top pieces started coming apart. Nothing some superglue didn't fix but come on...for the price they should hold up a tee bit better. All in all a good product, just don't use the case they gave you, it's a little cramped and what happened to me may happen to you.
Garbage! The same day I purchased these headphones, I used them on a gig and one peace came right off! They're so cheaply made with inferior materials and poor construction quality. It's true that saying, that you only get what you pay for. Don't waste your money & time with these American Audio headphones.
