Built on a smaller-scale dreadnought design, the Alvarez MD610 guitar from the Masterworks series has a solid spruce top. The result is full, balanced sound, and powerful projection with a light appearance. The acoustic guitar's solid mahogany back and sides offer presence and projection to the overall tone.
Nickel die-cast tuners offer precision tuning. The Alvarez guitar's rosewood bridge and fingerboard bring out clear, natural sustain. Other desirable appointments include the Masterworks dreadnought's exquisite maple binding, 3-piece Alvarez fingerboard inlay on the 12th fret, abalone rosette, and a natural finish.
One of the highest values in the marketplace, Alvarez Masterworks guitars are the end result of a creative spirit and a relentless quest for perfection. In addition to their solid tops, backs and sides, all Masterworks guitars have modern, thin profile necks, designed for fast, unparalleled playability.
Tasteful, understated cosmetics and superb tone make the Alvarez MD610 Masterworks Dreadnought an acoustic guitarist's dream come true.

Comments about Alvarez MSD610 Masterworks Small Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
This guitar is a bit expensive, but you can just wait for a sale. It's worth it in my opinion. One thing you might want to be weary of is the strings, the picture appears to show nylon strings, but this is in fact a steel string guitar. The wood grain along with the natural finish make for an absolutely beautiful body. It is much more eyecatching that the generic picture above, maybe if I'm feeling nice I'll post some pics. The playability/action is great (been using this guitar for blues playing) and the resonance is lasting. One thing though, since the body is so small, you will want to be sure you don't rest yourself on the guitar too much, it muffles the natural resonance of this instrument (kills the sound prematurely). Otherwise, the small body is incredibly versatile in the way of transport. This guitar does come with an Alvarez gig bag that is more than sufficient for protection, so don't be told otherwise. All in all, this is a great investment if you want a quality travel guitar that is sure to last you a long time. In a nutshell: Pros: Great sound Beautiful wood Handy size Good playability Comes with a gig bag made for it Part of the Alvarez Masterworks Series Cons: Expensive, but as they say, you get what you pay for so this isn't so bad
