Tuned from B to B, the ABT60E is pitched between a dreadnought and acoustic bass to give you deep tones with easy playability. Chord shapes and scales are the same as a standard six string but the voicing is lower. This is one of Alvarez's best-selling models and within five minutes of owning one you'll see why, great guitar to play.

The SYS550 designed by B-BAND is a pro-level EQ and pickup that reproduces the sound of the guitar very closely with great clarity. B-BAND use a patented under saddle electret film pick up which eliminates synthetic or processed sounds often heard with piezo or other styles of pickup. The result is a very true, acoustic sound. SYS550 also has an accurate, backlit chromatic digital tuner.

Artist Series is now "The Award Winning Artist Series" - winning competitions and receiving rave reviews in the States, Europe and around the world. It's a truly designed line of guitars that stands tall and sounds sweet in the solid top guitar market.

Hand-selected solid tops; forward shifted scalloped bracing, awesome tone and player experience¦

The term "solid top" of course refers to the soundboard of an acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. However, just because the top is solid, it does not necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. The tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to really release the energy a solid soundboard can generate. Artist Series is built to do exactly this.

Each model is designed to get the best out if its components, and for them to work together to produce a tone and player experience, rarely found in affordable instruments. These components include our FST2M bracing system, bi-level bridge, real bone nut and great quality tonewoods.

FSTM is a forward-shifted X brace design. Both the X braces and asymmetric tone bars are scalloped. Moving the system forward allows for a larger soundboard, which is optimized with a solid maple bridge plate for both strength and energy.

The sound is warm, open and powerful, and both the treble and bass registers are clearly present and balanced in relation to each other. These guitars feel right and are exciting to play and responsive. Dig in and they shout right back at you, treat them gently and they whisper and respond instantly to the lightest strum or pick.

The solid A+ grade Sitka spruce are hand-selected from quarter-sawn wood. This ensures consistent quality, and its no secret better guitars are made from better wood. Alvarez's tops not only look great but they are stiff and strong and finely grained.

nothing wrong with it only you have an alternate tuning that makes relearning the guitar chords a must. Too much trouble.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series Acoustic-Electric Baritone Guitar:

I added the Alvarez Artist Series Acoustic-Electric Baritone Guitar to my repertoire of Acoustic Guitars. I'm use to playing higher end Acoustic Guitars, but the Alvarez is a great value for the money. It is my first Baritone, and so far it has been a pleasure to play. The strings that come on it were a bit too heavy gauge, so I ordered some lighter gauge Baritone Strings and that should give the feel of a standard 6 string guitar. I wish it had a bit more depth to the tone, but that's not a deal breaker.

Before purchasing the Baritone, I tuned my Taylor 714CE (love that Guitar) to B to B Baritone tuning on medium gauge strings just to see if a Baritone was something I wanted to add to my collection. It defiantly was. A Baritone is an excellent addition to your arsenal of Guitars, it has opened up a whole new avenue of songwriting for me.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series Acoustic-Electric Baritone Guitar:

I'm impressed with the quality for the price of this guitar... fit and finish appear to be excellent!...and happy to find a guitar that satisfies my need to drop songs that are too high for me to sing into a range where I can handle them with my baritone voice.
I read a lot of reviews about this guitar before I bought it and I agree with all the positive things that were written by others. A little buzzing at 1st string, 1st fret with factory set up... a lighter touch eliminates this. I love the mellow sound produced by the lower pitch!!!

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series Acoustic-Electric Baritone Guitar:

Great build quality and feel for this price range. On-board piezo and controls provide a decent amplified sound -- not very quacky at all. Set up was spot on when I tuned it up -- no intonation issues. Spruce top is gloss, probably poly, but not very thick (a good thing). I easily removed the pickguard (be careful as you gently pull it off) for even better sound. The 1 3/4" nut is a great width for the strings and the bigger fret spacing really wasn't hard to get used to. I'm very happy with this guitar and MF shipped it safely and quickly.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series Acoustic-Electric Baritone Guitar:

I have been very interested in purchasing an acoustic baritone guitar after playing the 8 string Taylor. The 8 string sounds awesome but I felt that it would be limited to strumming and what-not ( kinnda how I feel about 12 string guitars) anyway, I didn't want to break the bank on a guitar that would only be played on a limited basis.

This guitar has surpassed my expectations by a long shot. I was very concerned about getting the electric version of this model. I play a Gibson hummingbird with a fishman pickup and preamp and also a Taylor with their expression system. I play those though a fishman loud box then di out to the PA. No experience with Alvarez. I was thinking about purchasing the model without electronics and then getting the LR Baggs anthem installed but that would cost as much as the guitar and that didn't seem right to me. So I took a chance and bought the Acoustic Electric model. This through my fishman amp sounds fantastic! and when running through the PA and the sub woofer kicks in when i play the low B...watch out! it sends chills down my spine!

Bottom line, If your a songwriter you absolutely must have one of these in your arsenal. You will be inspired. And if your a gigging musician this will add tremendous depth and richness to any given song. Highly recommended!

FYI: I did get this professionally set up. It was pretty good out of the box but I feel like all guitars even my expensive ones need professional setups.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series Acoustic-Electric Baritone Guitar:

After some minor adjustments on the action and truss rod this guitar really sings. For the price it is unbeatable. I feel like I got way more than my moneys worth on this one. Now that Alvarez has switched to a 1 3/4 nut size this became the baritone I have been waiting for.
