Overview

The AG60LCE Grand Auditorium Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric guitar is the same scale length as other Alvarez dreadnoughts, but with a slightly smaller body and narrower waist to help accentuate the trebles a touch more. The solid A grade Sitka spruce tops is hand-selected from quarter-sawn wood. This ensures consistent quality, and its no secret better guitars are made from better wood. Its top not only looks great but it's stiff, strong and finely grained.

The sound is warm, open and powerful, and both the treble and bass registers are clearly present and balanced in relation to each other. Like all Artist Series guitars, the AG60LCE just feels right, is exciting to play and quite responsive. Dig in and they shout right back at you, treat them gently and they whisper and respond instantly to the lightest strum or pick.

The AG60LCE is outfitted with SYS550 electronics designed by B-BAND, a pro-level EQ and pickup that reproduces the sound of the guitar very closely with great clarity. B-BAND uses a patented undersaddle electret film pick up which eliminates synthetic or processed sounds often heard with Piezo or other styles of pickup. The result is a very true, acoustic sound. SYS550 also has an accurate, backlit chromatic digital tuner.

Hand selected solid tops; forward shifted scalloped bracing, awesome tone and player experience
The term solid top of course refers to the soundboard of an acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. However, just because the top is solid, it does not necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. The tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to really release the energy a solid soundboard can generate. Artist Series is built to do exactly this.

The AG60LCE is designed to get the best out if its components, and for them to work together to produce a tone and player experience, rarely found in affordable instruments. These components include the FST2M bracing system, bi-level bridge, real bone nut and great quality tonewoods. FSTM is a forward shifted X brace design. Both the X braces and asymmetric tone bars are scalloped. Moving the system forward allows for a larger soundboard, which is optimized with a solid maple bridge plate for both strength and energy.

Comments about Alvarez AG60LCE Grand Auditorium Left Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this primarily as a back up guitar while my main guitar was getting a fret job. I played it all night at my gig two days after I got it and couldn't believe how great it sounds and how beautiful it is. At the sale price I wish I would have bought two. Everyone commented on the great looks and sound. Could easily be a thousand dollar instrument.

Best acoustic guitar in it's price range. Plays and sounds better than some guitars that cost twice as much.

Instrument has a great full sound whether you play it hard or soft. It does have to be tuned often but the built in tuner makes it easy.
