The Alvarez AF660ESB is an elegant, cosmetically rich guitar with a refined and warm tone. The solid African mahogany top generates great punch in the mid-range and focused trebles and bass; making this guitar equally suitable for recording, live work or more intimate settings while writing at home.
Although hardwood tops tend to accentuate the mids, the 660s carry Alvarezs signature open and full sound with lots of response across the whole tonal spectrum. The finish on the 660 is carefully crafted to produce and mirror a deep shine. The mahogany takes on the sunburst with style to show off its grain and warmth. Other appointments come in the way of real rosewood and Paua abalone rosette inlays, real bone nut and saddle, dot-free fingerboard with 12th fret pearl inlay and all-round quality tone woods.
The 660s have the unmistakable Alvarez bi-level bridge. This system significantly increases the break angle from the saddle to the top. This increased down pressure raises string tension, giving the guitar a very responsive feel and adding quality to its volume and sustain. Pair this with a forward-shifted, hand-finished scalloped bracing system, and you have a guitar that merits your consideration and will provide a lot of enjoyment.
The AF660ESB comes fitted with the Alvarez SYS250 3-band EQ with backlit LCD chromatic tuner.
