Overview

Trouper is a 2-way 200-watt bi-amplified system (130 watts LF/70 watts HF) with (3) 6 ½ (165mm) woofers and a 1 (25mm) high-frequency compression driver, delivering 65-20kHz frequency response. The system has thermal and dynamic overload protection, so the sound is always clean and clear however hard you push it.

A built-in mixer section features three channels of inputs, each with line/mic 1, line/mic 2, and Aux. XLR, RCA, ¼ and 1/8 connectors, so whether yo are a DJ, presenter or a musician, all of your cables will work with the Trouper. It features two-Band (LF/HF) built-in EQ for each channel, and Full Bluetooth capability for streaming input signals wirelessly (plus wireless linking of another Trouper system for stereo applications).

The Trouper's trapezoidal enclosure dramatically reduces internal standing wave resonances, resulting in cleaner output in upper bass and vocal range. It is easy to set up and use, and it takes a lot of real-world punishment:

It is stand-mountable with 36mm pole socket and covered in scuff-resistant black vinyl wrap and protective steel corners. Easily transportable at just 23 lb., The Trouper is a great-performing, flexible, go-anywhere PA system that makes any small-venue gig sound its best.

I had bought two of these speakers for Blutooth functionality with my I phone. unfortunately when connected to Bluetooth it produces a very irritating high pitch humming sound and makes these useless for Bluetooth audio for high quality sound. their look and feel appears to be good. Wired audio appears to be fine and good quality in the price range: rather pretty good.

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

Keep in mind that this unit is 100 Watts RMS. Having said that, it is fairly loud. In fact, I recently sold my Fishman SA220 after purchasing one of these units and using the bluetooth function to stream my tablet for break music. I then bought a second unit, hoping to connect the second unit via bluetooth. However ... although it will stream the recorded music from Channel 3 to the second unit, it will not bring my guitar and vocals from channels 1 & 2 over to the second unit via bluetooth. I must use an XLR cable to send all three channels. I have contacted Alto by phone about this problem and they have been very nice, but only sent links to standard FAQ pages, which I'd already read several times. My problem is not with establishing pairing between my first device and my tablet, or establishing a bluetooth connection between the two units. It is sending the sound wirelessly from the first unit to the second unit, and I mean the total sound. If anyone could help with this, I would really appreciate it. Maybe it's only supposed to send the streamed music over to the second unit, but that really defeats the purpose of me buying the second unit. And I suspect it may be a problem between left and right channels, but not sure exactly how. Thanks.

I recently purchased the Alto Trouper.I've had enough playing time with it to come to the conclusion that it's a KEEPER.Great clear sound,on both vocals and acoustic guitar.I will be using this for practice,as well as gigs. The sound quality is top notch.Well built and lightweight, which I love.Well worth the Money! It's a new product but I highly recommend it if you are going to do acoustic gigs. And the power is more than enough.I have the feeling that the TROUPER will make a lot of singer-songwriters very happy.I know I am!

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

This is my second speaker. The bluetooth link works great, but only links one channel. For the money, size, and sound you get with this I don't think there is anything else on the market quite like it. Plenty of compliments on the sound so far.

All I do is play music, so it is important that I sound the best I can every time I play. While this system is not a Fishman sa220 or a Bose, it is a very good sounding system. I have used it without any effects, with effects via a tc helicon vocal G and with a mackie pro-fx4 it sounds very very awesome for the small investment. I highly recommend!

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

I been a Dj for 22 years and have been using Alto products for the past 6 and they have always treated me right. I needed a portable speaker for back yard barbecues and small gatherings with friends. I decided to give the Trouper a try and I could not be any happier. I mainly use it for its Bluetooth function to stream music from my tablet and it sounds awesom! Yes it does lack that thumping bass that you will get from bigger speakers but it does put out a very satisfying tight bass for its size. Earlier today I pared it up with my Alto 12 inch sub in my yard and I was astonished at how well the two units complemented each other. ( side note) I listed to a lot of different genres of music and I could not find one that this speaker could not handle. Very crisp, clear highs and nice tight bass with dance music.

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

I have had this unit for a few weeks, have put it through its paces, and have some concerns, but overall quite happy with it. I use it for my one-man guitar/vocal with backing tracks, and for a two-piece combo. It's plenty loud and clear, ideal range for guitar and vocal. I like the tall thin shape for small footprint. Three inputs with EQ are handy and make it adaptable for lots of uses. The negatives: No reverb - you will want to run vocals and maybe guitar through a mixer first; A soft ambient hiss and a more audible squeal when the Bluetooth is active. I'm pretty disappointed with the noisy Bluetooth and will not be using that feature much as a result. Alto Support was understanding, and we still might do a swap to see if another unit will do the same. Note: With only one of these you will only get left channel from stereo input, so you need to either set output to mono or sum the signals - this has been a bit of a challenge. I currently am using this speaker for one channel and my Marshall guitar amp as the other channel from my Behringer mixer. Two would be nice but I'm worried about the squeal getting too obvious. Worth the price, but with limitations.

Great sounding speaker. Very loud and clear. Bluetooth has a serious lag which makes it unusable for use with computer programs like garage band. Other than the disappointing bluetooth lag this is a great speaker and with three channels it is easy to play along with a backing track, vocals and guitar. Ive run my whole band through it at practice and it is plenty loud for a small room. Lightweight and easy to carry.

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

So far I am very impressed with the Trouper's quality, and it's small "footprint". I like how well it sends the signal/audio to my floor monitor. Actually this is all in practicing at home - I have not had an opportunity to use it in a gig yet - but I am sure it will perform well. So far the only negative is the quality of sound from an mp3 plugged in via a line. I have yet to test the blue tooth.

I bought two 8" Alto speakers which I bought for their ease of transport and great sound. I liked them so much I bought another. I decided to try the Alto Trouper and immediately fell in love with it, so, I bought another. Like the 8" speakers, these columns kick! I stopped bringing a mixer to my school auditorium gigs. The Trouper can handle two microphones or an instrument with a direct box. I also use the MP3 player, which I pump through the RCA inputs. Alto make outstanding equipment...solid, clear sound and a great price.

I needed a speaker for a small low-budget venue. This is actually the first speaker I have owned, so, not an expert on the subject. Did some research and had this speaker shipped to Hawaii hoping it would work. I find the sound (vocals and guitar) crisp and clear. Lots of knobs for adjustments on back. It's not as portable as your tower systems, however, much lighter than a full-size speaker. Easy to carry (carry grip inlet) and store. Casing feels durable. Aesthetically pleasing for restaurant venues. Stands upright nicely, so, speaker supports not necessary. Will likely buy another for home performances.

So far so good. I am a solo acoustic guitar/singer using it for clubs and smaller to medium venues 2-5 times a week. I also use a mixer with and add a little reverb. I've been surprised at how many positive comments I have gotten about how this unit sounds. It's easy to use and very lightweight and portable with plenty of volume. I've seen some reviewers who had issues with the blue tooth, however, using it just with my tablet, the blue tooth has worked fine for me. I have not tried linking it to a second speaker. Time will tell how durable this thing is, but so far, I am very happy with this unit.
