I brought this speaker yesterday looking for something small and quick for my praise team while we rehearsal in our rehearsal space. At first i was looking at some studio monitors that i thought would do the trick but they clipped way to fast. I was kinda getting flustered cause I couldnt find what i was looking for. One of the sales guys took me to the back and showed me this Speaker as a last resort and I was sold. The sound is crisp. I have the volume on this speaker set to half way and on my mixer(yamaha 16/6fx)not even half way cause the speaker gave a nice pure sound. The only cons to this speaker is that you can't eq the unit, also I miss the option to run a 1/4in cable into the speaker. You have to use a xlr cable. Some pro's its lightweight(two thumbs up),small and compact, and the speaker carries great across the room. All in all i love the speaker for 280watts this thing is great i would buy another one just to have two. They praise team even gave the speaker high rankings.

Bought these to replace 16" Harbingers which became a hassle to pack-up/set-up/tear-down for my gigs. (I'm a drummer and use w/an Alto sub woofer mostly for outdoor or larger hall gigs)The speakers can't even go to 1/2 way without screeching and distortion. But, when the levels are below 1/2, they sound pretty good for a smaller outdoor venue where the audience is close but not loud enough for a large outdoor gig. Fairly good for a medium indoor show. (Glad I didn't sell the Harbingers) If your looking for speakers for a smaller show then buy them.

Comments about Alto TX10 10" Active Loudspeaker:

I have been wanting to pick up one of these ever since I got one of the TX8's. I have a full band but I also play solo acoustic and I needed something small and lightweight with a big sound. (Sure, I don't want much...). This thing only weighs about 15 lbs and it just rocks. Ran it off my Alto mixer and the sound was big, fat and round. I highly recommend it for any solo guys or as a floor monitor. The sound is very pure and they get pretty darn loud.

Comments about Alto TX10 10" Active Loudspeaker:

The Fort Collins, CO store gave me outstanding service and allowed me to spend some time listening to these speakers in the store. I wanted a powered set of speakers for my motorcoach to do rehearsals and I had previously purchased the Alto ZMX 122 FX portable mixer at the same store. What a great match! I like these speakers (and the zmx122fz mixer) so much that now I am even considering them for live outdoor performances with 200 people or less. These speakers provide excellent volume and fidelity including really good bass response for the 10 inch woofers. And as far as our rehearsals go this system is awesome in our 40 foot motorcoach. Thank you Guitar Center in Fort Collins. An added bonus is that the contour of the TX 10 allows them to lay on the floor and be used as a floor monitor when we are running our 1,000 watt Yamaha system.

Comments about Alto TX10 10" Active Loudspeaker:

I was in need for a small powered monitor. I use in-ears to keep the musicians stage noise low, but a few vocals want a broader sound source. On a limited budget the feedback was good on this. Add in a GC 15% coupon this is a valid investment. Time will tell on the reliability. So far loud and clear.

I got a pair of TX-10s to gig in coffee shops and wineries. They are loud enough and easy to use. Super lightweight and easy to haul. Sound quality is not exceptional, yet I get compliments on the sound from musician friends in the audience. Good value for very portable powered speaker.

I have a number of PAs. These lightweight, affordable powered speakers sound fantastic for the price! I haven't had them long enough to comment on their durability, but so far so good. I tried the Alto TX08 and it sounded excellent, too. I think you will be very pleased with a purchase of these speakers.

Comments about Alto TX10 10" Active Loudspeaker:

I'm a solo act doin country music, guitar and vocals in bars, nite clubs and special events. My rig consists of a Martin guitar, Shure SM58, Yamaha MG06X mixer mounted on my mic stand and feeding one Mackie Thump 12 with a 1000 watts. This rig sounds amazing with tons of bottom end and power. I also do parties in smaller spaces and don't need that much power or tote around 40lbs of speaker but I'm not willing to sacrifice my tone....I picked up this TX10 hoping it would do the job and am very impressed. The only thing I changed is the Mackie for the Alto....mixer settings remain the same and the results have slightly less bottom end but just enough for homes or coffee shop type performances at less than half the weight. It makes an excellent backup, additional coverage or monitor in combination with my Mackie. Several of the reviews suggest that the limit light comes on too early...I didn't find that at all. The limiter light shows green when the signal is good, if the incoming signal overloads the unit the lite blinks red...set your mixer output level till it clips ocassionally then raise or lower the volume on the speaker till you get what you want. Don't expect to fill an auditorium with 1 unit that may take 4 or more of them.

I am using this speaker at home mostly for my keyboard, a DJ system and mic. I really like the sound quality. I was surprised, actually. It plays loud but I was hoping for a little bit more volume. When it goes into clipping, it clips hard. Not graceful like other speakers I've heard. Still a wonderful value for the money. I would buy it again and recommend them to my friends.

Got these to install in a club for a Karaoke system. Built simple shelves to put on wall. 15" powered speakers (on floor)are my preference for portable Karaoke. These speakers are perfect for the job. They get nice and loud without "blasting" microphones do not get "screechy". I do pull out a little of the eq around 400hz. maybe due to the placement and shape of the room. I like the single simple volume control, i do not need extra inputs or controls or bluetooth on this application. These are not supposed to be booming DJ-Disco music. (The club has a different system for that.) Gotta take care during setup, set volume knob on speaker and output from mixer to get the best level without clipping. My only wish is if the clip indicator was on front where I can see it when they are installed on the wall.
