After reasreching for about a year, I setteled on these Alto 15" subs. First I am not a DJ, but a drummer in a band. We play everything from Heavy Rock to light country. I wanted to compliment my JBL 115 JRX 15" Mains and give us more low end. I am all about pressure. I tested them in the store in 2 locations, just to be sure, researched like crazy and then to another person in to make sure I was not hearing something. I was really can not belive the overall performance of these!! They kicked the #$%@ out of the Berhinger, Mackie and the Gemini. All got good reviews, but had noting for the price and performance of the 15" Alto's.
Alto has invaded the PA I use for mobile DJ'ing. I now have two TS115a mains and a TS SUB15. I know a lot of other DJ's would go for dual 15's or at least one 18 inch but, so far, I'm perfectly happy with a single 15". For its small size and relatively light cabinet, it is certainly loud. Even when you push it to the max, floor shaking and windows rattling, the bass is crystal clear. I would recommend you get a second one or pay the extra $100 for the 18 inch if you want serious SPL's, but for me one can handle it. Lastly, a suggestion for others with the TS115A's, if you want even more bass turn off the crossover. It's pretty hard to clip two 800 watt speakers, so for a really bassy sound (I know, not a real word, so lets just say a lot of bass) leave the sub's built in crossover off and let the subs in your mains add that extra punch.
