Part of Alto's TRUESONIC series, the TS115A is an 800W Class D powered loudspeaker with a 15" low-frequency transducer and 1" neodymium driver. It provides you with two mic/line combo inputs with independent volume controls and an XLR output for linking to other speakers. Their lightweight, trapezoidal cabinet makes it easy for you to use it as a traditional upright loudspeaker or as floor wedge monitor, and it's stand or pole-mountable as well as flyable. Other features include a Clip Limiter with red LED, Ground Lift switch, and a contour switch for increased EQ control.
Versatile Cabinet Design
All TRUESONIC 2-way speaker cabinets have been designed with versatility and longevity in mind. They feature a durable, lightweight polypropylene enclosure that is stand-mountable for weekend gigs and flyable for more permanent installations. What's more, they have a trapezoidal design which greatly decreases the resonance of the standing wave in the cabinet for a more true-and-exact sound reproduction. The TRUESONIC TS115A is ideal for musicians and DJs on the move and halls, malls, schools, houses of worship and more.
The TRUESONIC Series was designed from the ground up to be the most transparent loudspeaker money can buy. Rigorous testing and thousands of hours of listening have gone into making sure that what you pump into a TRUESONIC speaker is exactly what you get out. Everything you see (and some things you don't) - from internal signal path and components used to the sculpted cabinet and meticulously designed waveguide - was developed in service of the principle of accurate, transparent sound.
Super Efficient Drivers
The drivers in the TRUESONIC TS115A are designed to make sure that virtually no energy is wasted. That translates to more of the power from the amplifier actually working to generate sound rather than heat, giving the speaker better real-world performance than other speakers with comparable published specifications. The TRUESONIC TS115A offers a 15" LF driver (2" voice coil) and a 1" HF neodymium driver.
Modern amplifier design
Every active TRUESONIC speaker benefits from the use of a Class D amplifier integrated into the cabinet. Class D amps are generally lighter than Class A and AB amplifier designs, and offer more than enough power to provide your performance with plenty of punch. The TRUESONIC TS112A delivers with 800 watts of power and offers a balanced combo jack (XLR/TRS) input with level control. Class D amplifiers are also highly efficient and run cooler than other kinds of amps so the amp doesn't have to work as hard to deliver your mix.
Hang 'em High
Optimal speaker placement can be challenging, especially if your speakers don't have what it takes to go anywhere. Whether you need to fly your speakers, polemount or use them as floor monitors, TRUESONIC speakers are ready for you. All TRUESONIC speakers feature standard 36mm pole mounting insets on the bottom. If you need to fly them, it's no problem. The TS115A comes with five rigging points. All these options make the TRUESONIC one remarkably venue-friendly speaker. You can use them anywhere you need them.
Just what you need
Whether you're performing at a coffeehouse, wedding, house of worship or other small- to medium-sized venue, the TRUESONIC TS115A is your best choice. For example, it's easy to get your TRUESONIC speakers to the gig thanks to their carrying handles and lightweight design. Once you're there you won't need to be a live sound engineer to figure out how to EQ the speakers thanks to the built-in Contour EQ switch that can help adjust for those situations where an EQ alternative is needed for recorded music playback. When you're connecting everything, the TRUESONIC's dual XLR/combo inputs make easy work of your setup and each speaker's independent level controls give you the flexibility to dial everything in your way in seconds.
Full metal grille
You can never be too safe around the stage. We know stuff happens that you just can't predict. Sometimes it's the flying drumstick, a falling mic stand or worse. Every TRUESONIC speaker comes with a complete front grille from top to bottom that protects not only your low-frequency driver, but your high-frequency driver as well. With TRUESONIC speakers, you get extra peace of mind knowing that whatever comes at your sound system, it's covered, literally.

After spending some time researching speakers, I decided to drop by a GC store and listen to a few models. At that point I was torn between the Mackie Thumps and some higher rated Behringers for slightly less. I asked a sales rep what he thought was the best bang for the buck and he recommended the Alto series. He claimed to own a pair himself and stated the brand is actually made/owned by Akai. After listening to a side-by-side test against the Mackie Thumps, the choice was easy. The Altos sounded clear and present, while the Mackies sounded surprisingly dull and cheap (unsurprising, given Mackie's problems of late). That said, be aware that this is the first pair of PA speakers I've owned and I've had them for only a few weeks so far. However, when I've used them, they sound great. I'm pleased with the clarity, bass, and loudness.

I bought these speakers after listening and being very impressed in the store. I started with the Behringer 15 inch powered speakers. Theres really no comparison when it comes down to clarity of sound and the amount of bass that these put out compared to the behringers. With that said, These are not nearly as loud before they begin limiting. I am an EDM DJ and play mostly Trance, Progressive House, and Dubstep. I have already blow 2 of these speakers and I'm not just some kid blasting this music and limiting them at shows. If your going to be playing small house parties/small venues these are great for the price, but if you ever play mid to large shows don't waste your money. You might as well buy the Behringers. I recently blew out my second alto and finally broke down and bought the qsc k12. If you can save up and get these bad boys, there is no comparison in the store as far as powered speakers that deliver plenty of sound, as well as clear highs and miss and a lot of bass. Plus these have a built in limiter so its a lot harder to blow them. I am very happy with these and would suggest them all day.

I'm a mobile DJ and started my 1st set with 2-Alto TS115A speakers & now I own 4 of the Alto TS115A's because of the great sound & durability of these. They are very versatile as well when you need to "daisy chain".
This are great starter speakers. But if you are thinking about using these at bigger events, DON'T! The 15" woofers blow WAY TOO EASY. I have already blown two at DJ events with about 200 people in a pretty big sized room. I always watch my levels on the mixer, and these still blow when speaker is only turned up half way. They are a great speaker for back yard, basement type set ups... maybe a monitor.. but nothing else. They do however have surprising sound, until they blow!!!
I have owned one of these TS115A speakers for about 14 months. Never heavily used but the woofer is now damaged. I read that I may not have paid close enough attention to the volume controls on the back. I often set these over the 50% mark when in line mode and, as a result, the internal amp blow out the low end woofer. I would not recommend these speakers for the true enthusiast, however, when I purchased these they worked perfectly for many of the small gigs I put them to use in. In my opinion a very ample frequency response range that any amateur like myself would enjoy for the price tag and the lightness of the product. If you do purchase these speakers understand the volume controls located on the back. They are critical to the health of your speakers.
Before I do my review I want to tip my hat to the Pro audio department in The Orange CT Store. They always treat me well and will make things right to make sure their customers are satisfied. I purchased 4 units to use as out fronts and monitors for a number of club & show band projects I am involved with, playing medium to medium/large rooms. The idea being that I can be lighter, smaller, & faster setting up and breaking down. The amplifier system is designed well, delivering the power where it is needed (335 W to the Woofer & 65 W to the Horn)and delivering good Bass response and good balance across the sound spectrum, so as to not have to lean on my EQ as much. Keep in mind, for deep bass response, you will probably need a sub woofer to deliver the punch, but for vocals, some instrumentation, & pre-recorded music or for DJ's, they will work fine. Although I had a problem with one unit when it came in, GC took care of it. The others worked well. Hard to tell the longevity of these guys, but I guess time will tell. Just don't run them at clip levels and use good judgement for power up & down and you should be good to go.
I bought a pair of Alto speakers after I was impressed with sound quality with the high's and lows, especially the price. I needed a pair for heavy use as I am a mobile DJ. The first gig, I did with these speakers was phenomenal! Easy to carry, light, and maneuverable. That was short lived though. My next gig one speaker's subwoofer went out for a good 10 minutes. When the sub came back, it sounded like it was blown. Luckily I got the warranty.
Was very impressed with these speakers in the store and when I first purchased them. Used at only a few gigs and blew out one of the woofers at mid volume :( These are not reliable enough to use for pro DJs.
I was more than satisfied with these speakers... for a week. The sound is pretty clear and the bass is great. I'm a tech-house/Latin House DJ so Bass was super important when I was looking for speakers. When I bought these I was honestly looking for a "bang for your buck" speaker and these seemed to be them. I was pretty impressed at how they performed at the store so I purchased them. I DJ at decent sized bar, and a week after the purchase (only 2 gigs on these speakers) the night got pretty wild with most people dancing (and screaming) so I had to put the volume up a bit more and they BLEW! You get what you pay for. I don't hate on the speakers, they aren't bad just don't abuse them or even get close to that level! These are good for small-mid sized gigs like house parties just don't limit and definitely do NOT pass the 12 o clock volume level (for anyone who doesn't know that already). When I blew them they weren't even at the max but it must have been the amount of bass in the song? who knows.. I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing them because I see a lot of people complaining about the bass going out. Good luck!
Title should say it all, as well as the number of other good reviews. It's great for music, having a very present sound with a nice low end. For vocals / speech, it was very clear (tweeking a little bit on the eq to lower the bass). In addition to all that though, we were able to successfully use two speakers to fill +3200 sqft of outdoor open air space with out any issues. Yes, it filled every foot of our parking lot with incredible clear and present sound. Quality of build is impressive for price, solid yet not too heavy. Handles / housing look over engineered which gives you the confidence it's going to last, and going to perform.
I bought a pair of these, and at first was quite pleased. I used them at several jobs and they did fine. However, one woofer quit working at one job. Since I didn't purchase GC's coverage, GC said I'd need to contact Alto to find out what to do next. (still under manufacturer warranty) I've submitted alto's online form twice now. No response yet. I've even checked my spam folder. What a shame. They weren't very expensive, and the sound was very good (until one of them quit working). Live and Learn. From now on, I'll stay with brands I know, and if I'm paying a high price, I'll spring for the coverage, too.
We purchased these about 6 months ago and couldn't be happier! Used for a classic rock band that likes to get loud, but also plays some smaller venues where lower volumes are a must. Whether pounding at an outdoor gig, or the intimacy of a smaller room, a pair of these have performed perfectly for the band. Vocals are clear, mic'ing amps or running direct boxes for keys and bass... all perfect. The guys at GC in Mobile are the best! Are there better out there, sure, but for the money these surpass all, and even spending a few hundred extra wouldn't get you better than these.
