Live performances are more than just a job, they are an experience for the performers, the audience and for the sound engineer. The EMPIRE TMX series was engineered to precise specifications to deliver the kind of performance you demand, while giving you everything you need to create an unforgettable experience. The EMPIRE TMX80DFX is part of the TMX line, which also includes the TMX200DFX, TMX160DFX and TMX120DFX.
The TMX80DFX may be small but it's loaded with just what you need including 14 total inputs comprised of 4 XLR jacks with phantom power, 8 Line jacks and stereo RCA. These low-noise channels are your best friend when connecting instruments, mics, or even your iPod for playing between sets. Even better, each mono and stereo channel has its own 3-shelf EQ, so you can dial in every nuance you need in seconds. in addition, there is a full 9-band stereo EQ. A/D and D/A conversion is performed with 24-bit precision, which means you'll never have a "What was that?" moment. Easy-to-view knobs with incredibly smooth movement help to make mixing feel like playing a fine instrument.
The TMX80DFX's on-board Alesis digital effects processor provides pristine 24-bit, ultra-clean digital effects you, and the audience, won't soon forget. Effects include Echo, Echo+Verb, Tremolo, Plate, Chorus, Vocal, Rotary, Small Room, Flange Verb, Large Hall. 100 Presets are included, leaving you plenty of options for coloring the mix.
The TMX80DFX comes standard with the ability to deliver ultra-clean power at 2 x 350W (4-ohms) or 2 x 180W (8-ohms). All that power isn't as heavy as you might expect. Weighing in at just under 11 pounds, the TMX80DFX is a clear winner in the power-to-weight class.

This mixer/amp sounds great, is quiet, is easy to use, has all the power I would ever need for gigs, practice session, or just listening to playbacks of recordings. Also has multi-effects which are easy to add to tracks, eq, panning, stereo out... and really light weight... no more back-breaking stereo power amp to lug around. Mic in sounds great, as does the inputs for the iPod. Nice price.
I needed to install a permanent pa system for a small coffeehouse. The TMX80 fit my mixer requirements along with the power amp. The sound is clean with a slight hiss but that is something I believe could be eliminated as I get more familiar with the unit. I'm pushing overkill 15" JBL EON1500 speakers w/o a problem. I have on order 10" Mackies which I hope will provide a fuller spectrum of sound in a small room. While there are plenty of features the one missing for me is a channel mute button. If I want to turn off the mic to have a conversation I need to turn down the gain...then find where I had it balanced before on a fairly sensitive little knob. Overall I believe in these early ownership stages the Alto TMX80 was a great value at the discounted price...just ok at retail.
