Comments about Allparts EP-4144-000 Wiring Kit for Jimmy Page Style Les Paul:
This was a live and learn for me. The good news is this kit gives you quality parts. However, I disagree with their choice of parts. The capacitors, jack, and tone pots are all good. But I used a 95 Les Paul Studio and the switch did not fit. I could not get enough thread through the top of the guitar to get the tightening washer on. It needs the recessed washer that most Switchcraft switches come with. I ordered a replacement switch that came with both.
The braided wire is quality stuff if you're doing a standard Les Paul wiring scheme. But with 4 push-pull pots, this thick, single-conductor wire was useless to me. What you'll need is a foot-or-so of 4-conductor wire for the switch and some 22 or 24 gauge wire for all the little jump wires you'll have to make from pot to pot. I recommend solid core wire for those jumps as you'll be putting multiple wires on the same lug.
Lastly the schematic is hard to read if you're new to wiring. The full color Jimmy Paige Scheme found on the Seymour Duncan website is much easier to follow. Once I got it finished, this circuit is really cool and very versatile, but I recommend doing the research and buying the parts individually. This kit does not have all you need to do the job.
