Overview

Release Date:06/07/2011;Notes:The short happy life of the post rock, post grunge and almost post punk band Failure begins with their debut album Comfort. All of the trappings of their brilliant song writing to come start right here. An amazing production overall and solid - sometimes angular songs coupled with subtle yet sophisticated melodies. Fans and critics alike have long considered Fantastic Planet the band's masterpiece, but any listener or anyone who is serious about music in general knows that of any contemporary artist who rode the thin line between art and rock the way Failure did, as a practice wrote albums over hits and created a solid body of work across their catalog, rather than a single mature must have album. You will hear clearly everything that Failure ever did right as a band on this album - that is: sound, texture and complexity in an era that nearly looked down on musical competency. In 1992, Failure signed with Slash Records (an LA based independent label whose releases were manufactured and distributed by Warner Bros. In the United States), and went to Minnesota to record their debut album with producer Steve Albini at Pachyderm Studio that summer. Comfort was released in September of that year and around this same time, they went on theirfirst of several tours with Tool. Re-mastered for the first time in over a decade, pressed on high-quality European vinyl and available for the first time in America.;Track List:1. Submission;2. MacAque;3. Something;4. Screen Man;5. Swallow;6. Muffled Snaps;7. Kindred;8. Pro-Catastrophe;9. Princess;10. Salt Wound
