  • Great for kids

    I have played for years, and my two sons, ages 11 and 7, wanted to learn. I bought this book as a guide for them and it has been very helpful. Remember, it is for "Absolute Beginners". Anyone who has played before will not learn much from this, but it is a good staring point for anyone who hasn't played.

    This is the most helpful book for learning guitar i've ever read. I learned everything I know about guitar from this book. The one I got didn't come with a CD but it was still ok. I still learned a lot from it. This book teaches you Tablature, The basics of reading music, and really basic songs. I would also recommend the Absolute Beginner book 2.

    This was my first form of instruction( a few weeks before I got lessons from a teacher). Extremely easy and helpful. Too simple, though. One lesson with a teacher rendered this book near useless. But in terms for the absolute beginner, ya it can help you learn.
