This synth is pretty good. I was deciding between this and the Microkorg. It's got great lead tones and drum samples.I also love the compact size. Makes it easy to travel around with. The best thing about this synth is the simplicity, compact size and relatively cheap price. Great product.
This keyboard is Great! I always forget which sounds I like because there's over 100 different sounds to hear, plus bass guitar and drums and the keyboard remembers what you cycled through. Its compact and fits right on top of my B-52 header, so I don't need a piano stand or a separate area for the keyboard. I had a Roland SH-201 and it was sooooo complicated to use, this Alesis is the definition of simplicity - I Absolutely Love It!
This is an amazing instrument. Don't let the simple packaging fool you, when you start comparing specs this thing stacks head and shoulders with items on the market commanding a much higher price. Don't mistake it for a tweak box or simply something to fill in your mix, although it can do this just fine...it is much, much more than that. Pros: Out of the box, this thing sounds really sweet, assuming you have good headphones or a real keyboard amp. Feature rich and pretty much complete access to just about every aspect of the synthesis chain that you would care to tweak. And this is where the Micron really shines. The creators seem to have strung you along down a path with each program or setup being a starting point on your journey into the sounds of the Micron. Almost as if they are saying..."Here's some inspiration...run with it". I find the controls very good for real time use, although some have complained about the pitch wheel I find it a breeze to use when jamming. Fairly solid build quality. Some have mentioned the buttons feel flimsy, I completely disagree. They are solid. And while we're on the subject the sliders and x,y,z controls are assignable! Just thinking about the amount of flexibility Alesis has given the end user in this syth is making me want to play! Cons: External power supply and the connector has no safety, which is a disaster waiting to happen. Interface takes learning. Did I mention, the interface takes learning? Overall: Once you dig in to this amazing instrument, you'll find seemingly limitless inspiration. For the price, hands down it's quite possibly the most powerful analog modeling synth created with the amount of control and capability available. With the 3 octave keybed and minimal top layer interface (although the shortcuts make editing a breeze once you understand how to use them) allowed Alesis to sink the money into the guts of the synth or at least this is the way it appears to me. I highly recommend downloading the manual off of their website to help fully understand the power this thing wields. I am considering buying a spare to have years down the road should anything happen to my Micron!
If youre on a tight budget and want a synth with a variety of different sounds with a built in Vocoder and many other features, the Alesis Micron is just for you! This super easy to use synthesizer can do alot more than just play synth basses and leads, it can also let you play different patterns and rhythms as also use the Vocoder feature. Things I like about this synth is that its portable, light weight, easy to use, has MIDI In and Out(for recording in the studio), has a vocoder, knobs that can tweak your sound, headphone jack, and the most important, it sounds great! The Alesis Micron comes in two color options: Blue and Red. I recommend this synth to anyone who wants to add that synthy sound to their music. Any type of player of any genre can use the Alesis Micron because the sounds on this synth are endless and fit any style of music.
I bought this a few months ago, because I couldn't get the Moog Fatty. Well, I'm glad i bought this instead. Its great for leads and basses. The sounds you can manipulate in this monster are bananas. Go and get it now. Blue or Red.
Wow, when I first got this thing, I was amazed. The sounds on it are so nice, and full, except for maybe 3. The Micron has so much going on and is so easy to use, within the first week I already new my way around it as well as my microkorg that I have had for months, by the way, this thing makes the microkorg look like a toyrus instrument. I love my synth, the full sized keys, retro look, wonderful and mesmerizing sound has made it my favorite little toy. I highly recommend it.
This thing is great, it offers so much more than other synths in its price range. It has the standard sounds but much more others too u have several catagorys to choose from bass lead key ( actual instruments, like organ) comp beats( drum beats) horns strings and much more you can also combine preset rythums with different drum beats to make it sound how u want! Overall this thing is amazing for the price i can honestly say its the best for its price.
The Alesis Micron has amazing effects and programs! I have messed with the modeling part of the synth and LOVED the result! I would recommend this synth to anyone who loves to play! this is also a good synth for live shows!5 STARS!!!
