I've been using mine for nearly a year to mix for and record a weekly open mic event. I used to bring a 16-track Fostex recorder in conjunction with a Mackie DFX-12 mixer, and this all-in-one has greatly simplified setup. It lacks some of the pro capabilities of the Mackie-Fostex rig, but it is much more than adequate for a simple capture of the stage mix. I have more than four years of archives, and this makes that task easier. I upload them to iTunes, convert to mp3 to save space, and archive a whole month to one cd. Input capacity is limited (I want to check out the iMultimix 16) and iPod battery life/onboard charging is a challenge, but, overall, a big step forward for casual mixing and recording in single durable, stylish unit.
This was my first mixer/recorder, and it really makes recording and mixing easy. The quality is great and perfect with any type of monitors or speakers. The ipod feature is also a great part of this unit. It allows you to play music strait from your ipod and record strait on to your ipod. I would recommend this to anyone from beginner to someone looking for great quality and simplicity and at a good price.
