The Alesis MultiMix 8 Line is an ideal mixer for the stage, studio, boardrooms, conference rooms, health clubs, restaurants, houses of worship, and more. The rackmount MultiMix 8 Line is also a great fit for any band's live rig, especially for keyboard players and multi-instrumentalists who need to mix or sub-mix multiple sources.
MultiMix 8 Line features eight stereo channels with a mic/line input on channel one and stereo effects send and return. When a mono signal is present on any input or stereo send, the Left signal is automatically summed to mono for mono or stereo compatibility. Connect two Alesis MultiMix 8 Line mixers with inexpensive, common TRS cables, and they share the same mix bus for 16 stereo input channels. There is also an effects bus so you can even share the same reverb, compressor, or other effects chain between two linked mixers.
Keep an eye on your mix with simple, intuitive signal clip and overload LEDs for each input and a five-stage LED level indicator at the main output.
This generously featured 1RU line audio mixer is as at home on stage as it is in the recording studio, and it's half the price of the competition. Whether you're a professional musician, an audio contractor, or an A/V consultant, MultiMix 8 Line is the tool to get the job done.

Comments about Alesis Multimix 8 LINE Rackmount Mixer:
This excellent rackmount mixer is perfect for applications where you need to support multiple audio sources simultaneously. I found that the FireWire interface I bought for my tiny home recording workshop really only had one useful set of stereo line inputs, and I was constantly plugging and unplugging different audio sources. The MultiMix 8 effectively expanded the one pair of inputs to eight pairs. While a simple patch bay could have worked, the MultiMix 8 is way more versatile because you can combine sources, you don't have to set up patches, and it is capable of a send/return configuration to pipe multiple audio sources through an effects chain. You get 8 stereo channels (unbalanced 1/4" jacks, except one is shared with an XLR microphone input), each with its own trim, pan and send controls, plus master level and return controls. There also are a master LED level meter and separate clip LEDs for each channel. You can even daisy-chain units together for more channels. The level knobs are very sturdy. My only criticism is that the small send and pan knobs are much less sturdy. I use this to record guitar from a Line 6 POD, instruments and vocals via microphone, and various audio players (CD, tape, etc.). This unit does a great job managing all the connections and levels, all without adding noise. It offers a lot of quality for the price.
