Great Little Mixer

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 4 USB Compact Mixer:

This is nice mixer that I use to record vocals using the USB connection. The only downside is that you can not record separate channels.

Works great and sounds good

By Brendan Mattson

from Chicago

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 4 USB Compact Mixer:

I am using it with a Macbook pro and Garageband. Plugged it in and with a couple simple steps, it was working perfectly with my computer. I am using it with guitar, keyboard, drum machine, and microphone. I also use it to digitize songs on some old cassettes. The high pass filter does a nice job of getting rid of some rumble from the tapes, and the eq works well. There is a nice amount of gain. I haven't tried using the phantom power yet. It seems well built and is very compact. I would give it 5 stars except for the high pitch noise that has been mentioned in other reviews. Luckily, it seems to not affect the signal going into the computer very much, but it is very noticeable in the headphones when the volume is up. This mixer/interface works perfectly for what I need it to do.

Perfect for home

By Han Lee

from Ridgewood, NJ

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 4 USB Compact Mixer:

There are many solutions for home recording but this one is the best as I searched in a view of price and features - I was trying to find a mixer has USB. I got this one and I'm really satisfying with this tiny mighty mixer. Great for home with computer and perfect price though.

Great, simple home recording device

By William Evans, Jr.

from Memphis, TN

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 4 USB Compact Mixer:

This is probably the easiest piece of home recording equipment I've used. It's really as simple as plugging it in to a computer and recording. You could probably get a Behringer Eurotrack used for cheaper, but by the time you get it hooked up to your computer, it's no longer worth what you pay. The MultiMix 4 sounds great and gives you all the essential controls (high and low EQ, pan, gain and volume control) without any hassle whatsoever. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to set up a simple but effective home recording studio.

Very Satisfied Amature Musician

By Alan Street

from Hewlett, NY

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 4 USB Compact Mixer:

I read a lot of negative reviews on the Internet but decided to but the MultiMix4 anyway and give it a shot. I am very satisfied with the little unit. I am an amateur singer/songwriter/musician doing multi-track recording on laptop computer. I use the unit with an old AKG C 1000 S condenser microphone on my son's Yamaha FG735S acoustic guitar (my vintage Guild is in Sao Paulo) and an egg. I use an inexpensive dynamic microphone for vocals. I feed the USB into MixPad without any special drivers (I just use the default USB drivers) with free trial mixer software I downloaded. There is a slight whining in the microphones on playback but this does not affect the sound of the recording. The sound of the recorded tracks seems very good to me. I am not an experienced sound engineer. You can judge for yourself. I am "Alan Street Music" or find the song at http://www.reverbnation.com/alanstreet. If you need phantom power and a USB interface for less than $100 do what I did -- buy it and think about it later. Alan in NY

Awesome little fella

By Josue

from Edinburg, TX

Comments about Alesis MultiMix 4 USB Compact Mixer:

It is the first mixer I use for recording in the computer and it works great. I use it it with a condenser mic, guitar, and a fantom x8 piano and the quality of the sound it delivers to the computer is very good. You just have to find the asio driver to work with it that by the way is freeware just google it.
