Overview

While it's true that the Alesis Elevate 3 monitors are not designed to be a main set of speakers in major recording and post production facilities, they are however an excellent and affordable decision for your home computer desktop or small project-based studio. Alesis Elevate 3 monitors come as a stereo-matched pair to provide a clear, full sound for your multimedia content and more. Built using technology adopted from Alesis' award-winning Monitor One and M1 Active professional studio monitors, Elevate 3 Studio Monitors are the perfect way to upgrade your computer or mobile device experience. Each speaker is housed in a handmade, custom wood cabinet that helps provide natural bass and feature an elliptical waveguide with Directional Articulation technology. You'll also have the ability to increase power and bass extension by connecting an optional powered subwoofer.

Exceptional Sound Quality
Elevate 3 Studio Monitors contain powerful, three-inch woofers, crisp, one-inch silk-dome tweeters and dedicated bi-amplified power. Alesis engineers carefully selected and tuned these crucial components to work in concert as a single unit within the custom wood cabinet to deliver full lows, clean highs and a detailed compelling stereo image. Magnetic shielding ensures that you'll never have to worry about placement or interference with displays, TVs and other electronic equipment. And unlike passive speakers, Elevate 3 monitors have a volume knob built right in to the front panel for easy control.

Directional Articulation Technology
Alesis has been creating studio monitors for nearly a quarter century. In that time, they have learned a lot about maximizing sound and sonic clarity. Elevate 3 Studio Monitors leverage Alesis' experience in designing studio loudspeakers by employing custom-designed wood cabinets that stay natural and neutral, regardless of the frequency content or volume.

More importantly, each Elevate 3 cabinet features an elliptical-shaped waveguide set around their high-frequency driver - a feature commonly found on premium speakers far more expensive. Surrounding the high-frequency driver, the waveguide optimizes the throw of sound. Its elliptical shape is wide horizontally, creating a wide listening "sweet spot," so you can move left or right without losing stereo image. And because its shape is narrow vertically, the waveguide reduces reflections off of your computer table, below, and the ceiling, above. This translates to clean, consistent and focused sound every time you turn on your pair of Elevate 3 Studio Monitors.

Convenient I/O
An RCA stereo pair input is onboard, perfect for connecting mixers, interfaces, and virtually any other piece of audio gear. A 1/8-inch stereo connection gives you the ability to switch to headphones easily at anytime, and connecting the speakers is just as easy, requiring just one standard 1/8" cable (included). If you're frequently on the move, Elevate 3 is the speaker for you: they feature a built-in power supply so they'll work worldwide with no wall-wart power supply to lose!

Elevate 3 Studio Monitors are designed to produce natural frequency response. But if you need a little more low-end punch, a convenient bass-boost switch does the trick. And if you need even more power and low-end extension, Elevate 3 features a subwoofer output compatible with virtually any powered subwoofer.

I give these little monitors a 5 out of 5 stars. Many people are disappointed with the product, when in fact they don't have much knowledge of how technology works.. especially when it comes to audio engineering. Many people return them ive noticed, or think they have a "bad pair". The truth is, they just have a lower than expected input headroom. Which in short means that you have to run your input (computer, ipod, whatever) at a lower volume, then use the monitors to amplify them. Otherwise it WILL distort, but more properly the sound will clip. It is very annoying, but you just have to experiment to find the maximum input volume level to properly run your monitors. If you take the time to break them in, at a moderate/low volume, through all genres of music, they will properly function, and you will be amazed at how amazing the sound quality from these little hot rods are. They do not clip/distort if used properly, and are more than enough for a small project studio, or just ipod speakers. And of course you can run them loud and still keep the clarity if you are using them correctly. Keep in mind, They are not just computer speakers, and they are not the same as spending 600 bucks on a pair of monitors. But they are Simply amazing, and well worth the money you spend on them. And with all do respect, people who do not know how to properly operate audio equipment should refrain from doing reviews on products, because they will give the companies who engineer and produce the product a bad name that they don't deserve.

I have been in and out of medium sized to closet studios and the only place for these so called (studio monitors) is desktop stereo speakers for my sons pad to play games and watch netflix. The only thing these desktop speakers have is the name Alesis. I work daily with studio equipment, and have used Alesis monitors before 100 Watts and they were clean and responsive in bass and high end along with mids. 6 inch real studio monitors. They should not use STUDIO MONITOR on the PnR. If one was to put an actual 60 watts to these desktop speakers they would not handle it, at all. I have a 15 watt guitar amp that BLOWS these so called 60 WATT MONITORS away. I have many Alesis items in my personal small studio. These are not studio quality unless your studio is a 3x3 closet and a powered sub unit. Play games on these but buy real STUDIO MONITORS not these desktop. Im giving these to my son to use on his pad. They cut no mustard in a studio.

Comments about Alesis Elevate 3 Studio Monitor (Pair):

I use these primarily for running my Line 6 Amplify fx100 multi effects processor. I haven't recorded yet because I don't like the unbalanced RCA inputs on these but for the price it was cheap enough to use to practice with the thing. I use a POD HD500x and M-Audio BX8 for production so I cannot even try ti compare these to those but for what they are they are worth the cheap price. Again, my only thing is I wish they had balanced inputs (but thats just cause how my studio is set up).

Definitely a great sound though (much better than any cheap desktop speakers) and like others said have minimal bass when turning to louder volumes but again not much a problem for me. Will use these on the go when I want to record vocals outside of my apartment complex LOL

Using as studio monitors for DJ production. I don't need a lot of volume from speakers so I hoped these would be clear at low levels. Although, cheap price was reflected in cheap sound quality even at low levels. Speakers cannot hold any amount of bass.

All in all I can't complain much about these monitors for the price. It has a nice even all around sound that one would expect for monitors of this price. While a very crisp sound is not produced I feel like it does a nice jon of keeping things even at midrage. If one want a super clear high end crisp sound then I would recommend something a little more pricier. Anyways for light mixing or a small recording studio these speakers do the trick. I also like that I can plug a sub to them for extra bass.
